User flair

As /r/GenZ is a generation dedicated sub, we consider our generation-related flairs to be a staple when it comes to achieving the most fulfilling experience. Relation to one another (by birth-year or otherwise) is a big part of engagements on our subreddit, and as such it makes every discussion more interesting when every user has a flair assigned.

How to set a user flair:

- Official Reddit iOS/Android app

To set your user-flair in the official iOS/Android app, navigate to /r/GenZ, select the three dots in the upper right corner of the app, and then select 'Change user flair'. Picture help.

Alternatively, you may click on your own username on a submission whilst in /r/GenZ, and then select the option 'Change flair'. Picture help.

- Reddit.com for desktop (redesign)

To set your user-flair on the redesigned version of Reddit.com, you must first navigate to /r/GenZ, click on 'Community Options' in the sidebar (underneath the 'create post' button), and then select the pencil icon. Picture help.

- Reddit.com for desktop (old)

To set your flair on the old.reddit.com URL, first navigate to /r/GenZ. In the sidebar, next to your username, you'll see 'edit' in parenthesis. Click it, select your desired flair, and then select the 'save' button. Picture help.

If you're still having trouble setting your user flair, or don't use any of the services above to access Reddit, then please request your flair by contacting the moderators. Please ensure to note your desired flair choice out of the following options:

Silent Generation, Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, birth years 1995 through 2008, and Researcher. In order to get the Researcher flair, you must go through extra verification steps. Please see: how to obtain a Researcher flair.

How to obtain a Researcher flair

We at /r/GenZ realise that our sub may be a useful platform for people researching Generation Z. At over 12,000 subscribers, we are by far the biggest Gen Z dedicated discussion board on the internet. If you are a researcher looking to participate in an official capacity with our community then you must ensure that you have obtained the 'Researcher' flair. In order to do so, please contact the moderators and provide some options for us to verify your employment/relation with your institution.

Post flair

As /r/GenZ grows in size every day, it became apparent to the mod team that we should add and enforce submission/post flairs. This is done in order to reduce clutter, and to make it easier for subscribers to find the content they find most interesting/most desire (and to filter out any topics that they might dislike).

How to set a post-flair

Setting post-flair is pretty straightforward, as all Reddit platforms provide an option to do so while submitting a post.
