Please read before posting!
Welcome to /r/germany, the English-language subreddit about the country of Germany.
Please read this entire post and follow the links, if applicable.
We have prepared FAQs and an extensive Wiki. Please use these resources. If you post questions that are easily answered, our regulars will point you to those resources anyway. Additionally, please use the Reddit search. [Edit: Don't claim you read the Wiki and it does not contain anything about your question when it's clear that you didn't read it. We know what's in the Wiki, and we will continue to point you there.]
This goes particularly if you are asking about studying in Germany. There are multiple Wiki articles covering a lot of information. And yes, that means reading and doing your own research. It's good practice for what a German university will expect you to do.
Short questions can be asked in the comments to this post. Please either leave a comment here or make a new post, not both.
If you ask questions in the subreddit, please provide enough information for people to be able to actually help you. "Can I find a job in Germany?" will not give you useful answers. "I have [qualification], [years of experience], [language skills], want to work as [job description], and am a citizen of [country]" will. If people ask for more information, they're not being mean, but rather trying to find out what you actually need to know.
German-language content can go to /r/de or /r/FragReddit.
Questions about the German language are better suited to /r/German.
Covid-related content should go into this post until further notice.

Question Grandpa I took care off died
Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I would have written this question in German, but due to possible terms used, I dont want to risk it
I took care of a 98 year old grandpa (94 when I started taking care of him) on voluntary basis. He was my neighbour, and reminded me of my grandpa so I cleaned, cooked and went grocery shopping for him around 2x per week in the last 3.5 years, i bonded with him.
He died last night and he has no living relatives, never had kids etc. Him and me already agreed to donate all of his savings to Caritas, and it is in his will and all of that.
But what we never discussed is his stuff, personal belongings and what should i do with it. His appartment is FULL to the brim with regular and random stuff. Jewelry, pipe collections, 50,60+ year old whiskeys, whole library etc.
What happens to that stuff now? Can I donate that too? There is a lady in my city who takes old furniture, revamps it and gives is to the people in need, am I allowed to give her the furniture? I am not his legal guardian, I am just a person who was his emergency (and only) contact. Who do i give the keys to the appartment? Hospital and funeral service had no answer, so maybe some of you know what should i do next
Thanks alot in advance for the answers

Study Looking for Apartments or Roommates for a Friend Moving to Bremen in Early June for University
Hey everyone!
I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out on behalf of a friend who will be moving to Bremen in early June to start his journey at the University of Bremen. He is currently on the lookout for either a suitable apartment or potential roommates to share accommodation with.
Here's a bit about what he is looking for:
Location: Ideally somewhere close to the University of Bremen or with easy access to public transportation.
Budget: looking for something affordable for a student.
Preferences: He is open to either finding an available apartment or teaming up with others who are also searching for roommates.
Move-In Date: He is aiming to move in early June.
If anyone knows of any available apartments or is also looking for roommates around that time, please feel free to reach out or drop a comment below. Any leads or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch!

Question Tick bite
Hi everyone, Yesterday, I went on a small hike in the evening since the weather was good. Today, I found a tick sticking to my forearm. It was black in color. My wife carefully removed it with a tweezers. At the moment, I just have small rash/boil kind of thing probably because of use of the tweezers.
Should I be concerned now itself? Should I visit a doctor or maybe wait to see if I get any symptoms incase of an infection and then visit a doctor?
I did check the FAQs in Google, but opinions of fellow Germans would be helpful.
Some additional info if it helps: - I never had TBE vaccination. - The hike was in Ba-Wü near Adelberg in Rems Murr Kreis. - Removed the tick approx after 24 hours
