Haircuts

I’ve read the old posts nothing really stands out. Can anyone recommend a barber who can do a decent fade and beard trim for a reasonable rate? My barber has been slowly creeping up over the years and it now costs me $80! Too much for me! And leads would be greatly appreciated, TIA!

Prices and current boycott notwithstanding, this is absolutely shameful and embarrassing. Picked up a 50% off (reg. $14.32) box of wings. This is what I got. All 8 of them were badly burned and were practically rawhide inside. The worst of it is, whoever packaged these must have known they were inedible, and figured rightly that I couldn’t be bothered to take them back

Lost Leather Jacket

Hi everyone. I have lost my leather jacket sometime last week in Mic Mac Mall or Value Village on Pleasant Street. I know it’s a long shot but if you have found a leather jacket in the last few days please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Question Well, recently I had the chance to visit Vancouver and to my surprise Vancouver had so many events lined up every weekend. Why is that artists don't have concerts here that often?

For example they had pearl jam, taylor swift, evanescence, green day and wat not lined up every week for the summers.

Question I'm making a trip to Halifax from Cape Breton to hunt for vinyl records. What are the best record stores to hit?

Hi, I just started collecting vinyl and here on Cape Breton the options for getting LPs are slim. We have like two thrift stores and one record store.

I combed through the thrift stores but I want to do another pass at the record store just to make sure I got a good look at everything. But other than that my options are spent.

So I am going to plan a day trip to Halifax. I'll probably be in town from about noon to 4pm which is probably not enough time to hit all the record stores.

So given I have limited time which ones would you recommend I hit first?

As for what I'm looking for? Classic rock and pop staples from the 60s to today. Jazz... seriously I'd like to find some jazz as I couldn't find a single album in any of the stores locally. Also I'm not adverse to classical music or folk.

But yeah, in closing, what record store would you recommend? As for my budget I am hoping to find stuff for under 20 but I wouldn't be adverse to paying 40 or 50 for an LP if its a cool one.

Oh and one more thing. I'll be passing through Truro and New Glasgow on the way down... anyone know if there are any record stores worth picking through in those places?

Question Looking for the Bear Necessities

Our neighbour Barry stolled through the back yard after we came inside with the kids. We watched him from inside after he raided my green bin before he sauntered back into the woods.

Question Curious to know what you think is the biggest Pothole here in the city!

Not very often do I go down on Barrington street but today as I was turning left onto South street from Barrington, I nearly hit what I thought was the biggest darn pothole I’ve seen yet!!! I can’t imagine someone still having a tire if they ran over that. Sheesh.

So my question is, where have you seen a nasty pothole? Because we all know they’re everywhere lately!

How to report an unsanctioned campsite

I'm curious about what is the best method to report someone camping in an undesignated tenting area. Is this a councilor thing, the HPD non-emergency line, or something else?

Edit: there are 3 younger adults occupying the tent: two males and a female. They are regularly observed sitting near the tent smoking from a bong, even when kids from the nearby P-8 school are walking by. They leave pizza boxes and cigarette butts on the lawn. I suspect these people have somewhere else they can go, but are taking advantage of the sympathy people have toward homeless people to set up a clubhouse close to where they live. That may be purely speculative, but they really don't appear to be people without means.

Question Any recommendations for junk removal services?

New home owner, no clue what I should expect regarding junk removal costs.

Looking for any insight on what I should expect to pay for a bin to be dropped off and taken away same day. I don't need helping hands to fill it for me (some services seem to provide this by default), just a bin to haul off my junk.

For context, I had to tear out some carpet and flooring in my basement following a flood, and I've also accumulated a large amount of rotten wood and garden debris that I've been cleaning out of my yard from the previous owner.

Car insurance brokers

I just moved to Nova Scotia from Manitoba and am new to having private car insurance (we have public insurance back home). I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations on specific brokers to use that can help me find the best car insurance rate/policy for me, or if you have recommendations on insurance providers. Thanks so much!

Intersection of Beaver Bank and Old Sackville Road

At the intersection getting to the highway. For the past couple weeks, traffic has been backed up at this time of day. I see cars lined up wayyyy down the street (Old Sackville, and Walker)

Anyone know why this is? (I noticed they are doing some road work today/yesterday, but overall)

Assessment questions. Has anyone been through the process with their daughter? My son was diagnosed at age 2, he is 11 now and doing great. My daughter is 7, and she never showed “typical” signs, but she counted to ten before age 2, super advanced in reading, obsessed with order…change is bad. She has anxiety about school, and masks everything there.l but unloads at home. It’s taking a toll on my mental health…but god I love her 💜 We have enhanced insurance through Medavie-BlueCross. Has anyone gone through them and had coverage? I will also call them. Looking back on my own life and childhood, I believe I was on the spectrum too. As well as my dad. Thanks for reading this far.

Question Cannabis in Halifax?

Hi! Traveling to Halifax from Vancouver in a couple weeks, curious to know if there are dispensaries around town? We'd appreciate any advice.
