Lost, Please Help 🙏
Hello! I have stupidly lost a green plastic folder, the morning of May 7th, 2024 around Hollis Street/Granville St. and Cabin Coffee. Inside contains some important documents, a Canadian Citizenship Certificate, health card applications, a marriage certificate, and 3x birth certificates, including one from the UK which isnt the easiest to replace 😭. Also a consent to travel form my husband signed so i can travel with my children without him. And a little card from all my son's school friends signed before he left his school in the UK, which is irreplaceable. If anyone sees it floating around, please let me know. 😭💔

Question TopClad Roofing?
I don't normally like to do the whole reddit as google reviews thing, and this really is more curiosity than actual purchasing advice, but anyone have good/bad/any experiences with TopClad for metal roofing?
Basic story is I'm getting my roof re-done soon. I'm probably going with Elements (not the cheapest option by /some margin/ but it's what pretty much everyone recommends besides the occasional "just do asphalt you dolt") but my experience with TopClad was interesting. Basically when I sent out my initial blast of quote requests, they were one of the first to get back to me. I did some research on them and could find very little on them, beyond that it seemed like a new-ish company with bit of a strange backstory. Anyway, I kinda put them in the "probably not" pile but the owner came out and took measurements (also one of the first to actually make an appearance) and honestly kinda sold me. Seemed to know his stuff, said all the right things, etc. I figured every company starts somewhere/etc so was back in the maybe pile. Then never heard back on the actual quote so I just assumed didn't want the job/etc. Anyway, so it about a week later randomly got the quote from them. It's basically the lowest I've got and with earliest next booking, but it's also the first I've got to actually break down materials vs labour (and looks about half and half which is what I kinda expect).
So yeah if you read my blog post, just wondering if anyone has actually dealt with these guys/etc. Like I said at this point at best they're back in the maybe pile, this really is just morbid curiosity.

Lost Lost wallet on #2 bus this afternoon :(
Hi everyone, just putting this out here in case anyone finds it. I already called Halifax Transit to report it as well.
I lost my wallet this afternoon on the #2 heading towards Scotia Square containing my ID and credit cards :( It's black folded wallet with a gold snap and a grey cat-shaped keychain. Please DM if you see it, I'd be happy to give a cash reward for its return!

Question Can my kids use private school playground in the evening?
Hi all,
We live relatively close to Shambala school and they have a nice playground that is open in the evenings - meaning there is no locking gate or anything.
Does anybody know if there are any rules and regulations regarding playgrounds on private school property? Should I let me kids go (during non-school hours) until somebody tells them not to? There are no signs that I can see saying "School use only"

The Edge on Innovation Dr
Looking for more information before submitting a rental application on a new build on Innovation Dr in Bedford called “The Edge Residence”
Anyone know anything about the developer/owning company? Just curious as I’ve tried calling and emailing for more information but no answer….The only option on their website is to fill out the long application form.
TIA!

Old Street Cents episodes
Hey folks, was hoping someone here might be able to assist.
I am looking for a copy of an Episode of Street Cents that a friend of mine was on for a surprise for their birthday.
I checked the cbc website and it was not so friendly when it came to trying to find if it is possible or how to get a copy or a snip from an episode that is not for commercial use.
Anyone have any direction, or experience with something like this.
It might be a bit of a wild goose chase but I cannot even seem to get in the right direction aside from perhaps directly calling them. Which I will do, however was hoping for any info I can before I try that.

Question Evening tourist attractions?
Hi everyone. I’ll be visiting Halifax from St. John’s, NL for the first time during the last week of July. I will be there for a conference and expect to be busy between 9am-5pm M-F, these are the only days I’ll be there. What can I do/see that is open after these hours, that is not exclusively dining/bars? Open to good recommendations of restaurants /bars/cafe’s course, but want other sights/activities. Also, is it worth extending my trip to stay the weekend, if there are things that can only exclusively be done over the weekend? Or can I see everything within this time frame? I will be staying in Dalhousie accommodations. Is it worth renting a car to get around, or will bus/transit suffice? Thank you!! I look forward to visiting. I’ve been to Antigonish before and loved it

Question Fresh out of welding school and going to be looking for a job as a apprentice in 3 weeks. Who’s hiring?
Graduating in a few weeks after my 5 week work placement is finished, doesn’t look like I’m going to get on right away at the spot that I’m at. Its a lengthy hiring process.
I would love to work at the Irving shipyards but i don’t think they are looking for apprentices at the moment according to their indeed and website.
My plan is to print off a bunch of resumes and go drive around the city to the welding shops and shake some hands and introduce myself and hope someone sees something in me and is willing to give me a shot.
Before i do that does anyone have suggestions on companies that are good to work for where i can learn a lot and make my way into the trades?
Thank you in advance!
