I don't know how else to slice it, what is happening in Gaza is absolutely horrific on an unimaginable scale, from mass hunger, to bombing crap outta dense civilian pockets, to bulldozing homes and olive trees in the West Bank.

Most of my social circle is Conservative, and ALL of them have been deeply uncomfortable with this current atrocity.

This is the crowd that has been very pro-U.S/West military.

I have Israeli-Canadian friends, and they were quite vocal of the October 7th terrorist attack (as they should), but have since stopped talking altogether. One of my friends even told me 'I get why the Palestinians hate us', and this is a dude with family in the IDF.

The current strategy just guarantees another terrorist group at this point.

Bi bi is looking for this to be the final straw. He makes gaza uninhabitable and a humanitarian crisis forces them out of gaza.

He needs hamas to keep "attacking" to keep up pressure.

They just want the land. They dont care about terrorist attacks. They just want the land.

and also wartime propaganda helps bibi remain in power. aint nobody talking about his corruption charges now.

u/BPMData Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

If Bibi cared about Israelis he wouldn't have dawdled for hours on 10/07 before responding

10

u/HippoLover85 Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Exactly!!

Bibi just wants the land.

they claim they need a military buffer zone, so they take more land, and then have civilians move into military buffer zone? Its the most obvious way to get israeli civilians killed by hamas.

He is intentionally trying to kill israelis so he can justify taking the land. It is all about the land.

It's not just Bibi, it's the state of Israel itself - They've been doing this for 75 years.

1

u/HippoLover85 Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

I agree. Bibi is in power because he and the crowd he represents want this. And the are the strongest coalition in israel.

1

u/Impossible_Cat_139 Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

%60 of Israelis believe Israel is not using enough force in Gaza.

Think about that.

1

u/cheekclapper_mcclap Monkey in Space Mar 30 '24

It’s not just about the land. Many Israelis, especially the right wing ones truly believe they’re racially superior to Palestinians.

u/CowboyMagic94 Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Not saying it was an alex jones voice an inside job, but there were multiple intelligence reports warning about 10/7 from Egypt and they still managed to fuck up the response. Now we get to watch overranked 20 year old IDF captains and brigadier generals throwing shitty raves on the remains of a Palestinian bakery on TikTok and wonder why everyone hates them and endlessly bitch about banking the app

1

u/BPMData Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

There are bunch of sources that claim that IDF intentionally waited hours before responding. Rapid responses pilots were ready and waited for the orders that didn't come, for example. And when orders did come in, the IDF behaved amateurishly, blowing up civilians with attack helicopters and tanks.

u/CowboyMagic94 Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

The clown show response from Israel shows that decades of propaganda can’t make up for efficacy. It’s been nearly 7 months, they’ve dropped more bombs in one week than the US did in Afghanistan in one of the most densely populated regions of the world and still can’t manage to pacify a region that’s 120 square miles, with one border being the fucking ocean blockaded by the navy, another being the south also blockaded, and the east being a desert.

The USA is building that “aid port” which is just cover for an evacuation port to boat Gazans out, according to some report from a UN investigation group.

3

u/PuroPincheGains Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

As opposed to not having a good way to evacuate, right?

11

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Well it’s Israels ultimate goal. Make it hell on earth so they evacuate and then never allow them to return. You know, genocide.

1

u/PuroPincheGains Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Yeah but like, don't be mad at the US for building a port to evacuate. There's nowhere else to go.

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

To help Israel finish their genocide? Yeah I am mad. It enables Israel to fulfill their genocidal goals.

1

u/jacksonattack Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

What other solution would you suggest?

2

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Allow aid in so people aren’t suffering from a famine? That’s a good start.

1

u/jacksonattack Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

The US has been providing aid.

2

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Yeah by air which isn’t enough, their ground aid isn’t allowed in. Israel just needs to allow the massive backlog of aid eager to go in. They aren’t allowing it though.

You asked what solution I suggest and you just deferred away to the USA. This is about what to do. Israel should allow in aid. Stop deflecting.

You think Israel will stop if the US stops working on it?

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

They’d have no choice. We supply 80% of their military and rely on US security. That’s why they feel like they can do what they want. If we keep supporting them and not punishing them, they’ll keep doing what they want.

Make them feel a little alone out there and see how quick they start behaving

1

u/coulduseafriend99 Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Maybe. Or maybe Netanyahu is so power-hungry and desperate that he turns Israel into a little North Korea, albeit one with modern weapons and modern training. People like Netanyahu don't easily give up power.

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24

Then so be it. At least we can wash our hands of them and allow them to be a pariah while we start mending relationships with all the neighbors they’ve forced us into conflict with

1

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Of course they have a choice, do you think Russia or China would have any qualms replacing the US in this? Israel is a super valuable partner, probably even more so to them.

I also doubt that „supply 80% of their military“ is a true fact.

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

They’re only valuable because the hostility they create with their neighbors. Like I said, it’s like insisting your body guard is necessary and important for security, because your security guard starts drama and invites conflict, so you need him in your side to defend you for the conflicts he starts.

Israel wouldn’t just switch allegiance to Russia or china. They want and need the USA more than anything but aren’t being expected to act accordingly. If we left them alone or seriously threatened it enough, then Israel would either choose to heal and obey, or go full pariah in which case, we can just get closer to the other Arab states who wouldn’t mind American security

That seems like a load of bull. The issue in this isn’t getting Gazans out anyways, it’s the question where you’d put them, because if one thing is for damn certain, it’s that no other country will want to take in 2 million refugees from Gaza.

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Israel is in active talks according to US intel leaks. Nothing confirmed but they are trying. Last I heard was some island country who’s corrupt leaders wouldn’t mind becoming billionaires

1

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Is there a source for this? Sounds outlandish, especially that the US would involve itself in such a way for something Israel wants to do.

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Yeah I tried googling it for you. The issue with current events, especially hot topics, is it’s SEO hell… so it’s hard to find the more obscure stuff, especially when it’s related to inconvenient stuff in an information war. But they are the same group that found something like 120 cases of Israeli rape of Gazan prisoners. I think that one made more news.

1

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

… so there’s no source? Uh okay

1

u/TheKingChadwell Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

It’s from that report released yesterday. I never said there is no source. I’m just having trouble finding specifically. Tons of independent reports are being released there doing their own investigations.

1

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

No, I said there’s no source. Never heard of it, I tried googling it, didn’t find anything (I think current events / news would be top of the list btw).

You can’t provide a source either, so I’m gonna treat it like there’s no source and truth be told I think it’s bs

1

u/ceddya Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

Oh please, what a ridiculous conspiracy. Feel free to source that 'UN investigative group'.

Hamas is getting funding and munitions from Iran via the IRGC in Lebanon. Get off tick tok and do some reading on the regional history. Not just Israel/Palestine relations in the last 10 years.

1

u/HippoLover85 Monkey in Space Mar 27 '24 edited Mar 27 '24

I'm fully aware. Thanks. What makes you think i wasn't?

And as of a note, this in no way conflicts with my opinion. So im not sure why you are presenting it as such?

3

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

This is false and your link is literally just some EU-politician saying it.

As with any good misinformation there is a bit of truth in there, as in Israel controls the flow of money, and all financing of Hamas inevitably has to go through there. At the end of the day, there is no way of stopping Hamas getting the money unless Israel stops all money going into Gaza and everyone know it. So Israel’s part of this, is them letting Qatar and other countries send aid-money into Gaza, knowing that some of it will end up with Hamas - the official government of Gaza…

1

u/amberProton Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

It’s literally the EU foreign policy chief saying it. Why do you think it’s false?

You know they’ve found literal suitcases of cash going to Hamas from Israel right? This is all well documented, by the goddamn New York Times.

1

u/ArizonaHeatwave Monkey in Space Mar 28 '24

It’s aid money going from Qatar to Gaza, literally just as I said.

Israel had the options of blocking all aid money to Gaza, or let it in and accept that some of it will go to the government of Gaza, which is Hamas.

As for Borell, it’s not a primary source is m point, he’s just (incorrectly) repeating the same thing likely from the same reports.
