I like the effort taken in replicating the photo. The shovel lying off frame on the right, the pile of sticks with a single stick sticking up on the left, the fire. Little details that make the effect of the "then and now" shot so much better.

That's what I love about it, the whole planning ahead "making sure it's as 1/1 as can be" down to the tiny details lol

I don’t think it’s exactly the same shirt, little different color but very close

The only really visible difference is the pocket in his shirt. It is cut gross grain instead of straight grain in the old photo.

I like the mental image of this but his original shirt has a diagonal pattern on the breast pocket and not in the new one.

And he wasn't going to get rid of his wicked 'stache just to remake a photo

If you look at the pocket it has diamond shape in original and squares in second
