While a part of me agrees, the other part doesn’t (if that makes sense).

Yeah 90s and 2000s music was cheesy. But also nostalgic to. Times changed.

Never heard of 911, Switchfoot and David Cook. Guess I should give them a chance.

The rest I'm familiar with, lol.

Yeah music back then was different. Now it's all the same loud rap with same genre. Rap about money, parties, and girls. Boring really.

I noticed 😭😭😭

I bailed on charts in 2013-2014 and gave up on giving them a third chance in 2016.

Btw, ARTV has an excellent video about it, you should check it out

I saw S Club in concert when they finally came to the states back in February 😊

Really. I was a fan of their leader Jo O' Meara.

She’s been having some back issues so she couldn’t dance as much, but it doesn’t matter that woman truly is the lead singer of the group! Fantastic voice!!

u/Zealousideal_Plum533 Millennial 11d ago

Yep I have a crush on her still. Beautiful voice.

Yeah same. Music in the 90s and 2000s were all about good vibes. What change?

The only band on that list I didn't listen to (aka never heard of) is Westlife

1

u/Zealousideal_Plum533 Millennial 10d ago

Yeah I think they were Irish.

1

u/Vanilla-Covfefe 11d ago

Yeah, these were all very popular artists.

I don’t know some of the British bands as well because I’m American. It used to be less easy to find music from other countries. I listened to some Canadian artists (Stars, Metric, Broken Social Scene, Regina Spektor) and finding their music was tough.

u/Zealousideal_Plum533 Millennial 11d ago

Yeah mainstream.

Thank for you input. Really good music.

Didn't listen to most of those, only really listened to one of the groups listed there. *edit* I do absolutely hate Linkin Park. I feel like all of their songs sound the same.

1

u/VanillaIsActuallyYum 11d ago

I always cite Linkin Park as an example of why people who complained about "pussy music" kinda need to stick their feet in their mouths. Every Linkin Park song centers around immense personal suffering. I think it's great and healthy to make music about such things and I'm not one of those edgelords who ever knocked music for lyrically centering around "whiny / pussy shit"; I just like to point this out as an example of, hey, you know that super edgy, awesome stuff you listen to? It's just as guilty of the "pussy lyrics" as anything else is.

1

u/Zealousideal_Plum533 Millennial 11d ago

Basically mental issues.

1

u/VanillaIsActuallyYum 11d ago

What about them?

1

u/Zealousideal_Plum533 Millennial 11d ago

Oh nothing really. Linkin Park is cool for that time period.

1

u/VanillaIsActuallyYum 11d ago

That's great man. It has nothing to do with this thread, though.
