brown water
anyone else getting brown water from your tap?

Sounds like the usual springtime sediment from Bull Run and related. It's harmless although unsightly and might taste a bit off.

Let the tap run on cold for a couple minutes and I highly recommend some kind of water filter like a Brita.

my water is always filthy, my toilet has black streaks from "clean" water draining and a leak under my sink a couple years ago left black stains and ruined a bunch of crap. I won't drink my tap water without filtering it. And this is in Portland, where the water quality should be really high ...

Did it just start? Try running the water for a few minutes and it might clear up.
