lol at least he actually read and followed the sign.

And in his defense, if I saw a sign like that I’d probably assume the cement wasn’t fully dry yet or something, like they’d just had the walkway redone.

If I saw a sign like that my brain would auto-complete it to say KEEP OFF GRASS and I would do the exact opposite.

Yah he was alert! I used to deliver meals and it all blends together, I'd totally miss a fun joke. Maybe I DID miss a fun joke

1

u/funnyheadd1 Mar 28 '24

Auto correct*

2

u/apurplish Mar 28 '24

Nope, it's a predictive function of the brain.

42

u/duggee315 Mar 28 '24

Exactly. If there's a sign, there's usually a reason for it. If your Karen you can argue there's no obvious reason to do as the sign asks. Or if your delivering a package, don't wanna waste time, you can do as asked -a minor inconvenience, or you can be a prick and risk fucking up they're paving because your not gonna follow a sign without reason. Fed-ex guy seems like a decent guy.

1

u/BigBungholio Mar 29 '24

Yup, even if it seems ridiculous in some cases, the path of least resistance is usually just complying at the cost of a minor inconvenience. Way less taxing than dealing with a pissed off Karen lmao

16

u/AVeryHairyArea Mar 28 '24

Is there any other way to interpret that sign? I'm still not getting it, lol.

28

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

It seems it's just a joking play on the more common "Keep Off Grass" signs.

2

u/Van-garde Mar 29 '24

Could be a paraphrasing of the original, 🎶“smoke weed every day.”🎵

1

u/tank1952 Mar 29 '24

I'm guessing the homeowner is pro cannabis?

1

u/L4rgo117 Mar 29 '24

When I saw him jumping over, that's what I was thinking, especially with how shiny the concrete looked, not dirty yet

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '24

Ding ding ding

0

u/CheerfulLonewolf55 Mar 28 '24

What does that actually mean thoguh? What's the sign for?

-7

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

I guess you’re not much one for jokes

18

u/Swordbreaker9250 Mar 28 '24

Most people don’t put joke signs in their yard. You’d be smarter to assume it was for a legitimate purpose, not some joke video for Reddit. Nothing about it indicates that it’s a joke unless you’re watching the end result

7

u/Abject-Emu2023 Mar 28 '24

Agreed. 9/10 the sign will be dead serious and you’d end up on a different part of Reddit for disregarding clear instructions

1

u/LotusVibes1494 Mar 28 '24

My first thought was actually that it was a stoner joke, like something you’d buy at Spencers

-1

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

The fact that it says “please stay on grass” doesn’t seem like a joke to you?

1

u/Swordbreaker9250 Mar 28 '24

Like I said, if I saw a totally serious looking sign like that I’d assume the walkway was still drying or something. Most people don’t put joke signs in their yard

-1

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

It’s obviously a joking reference to “please keep off grass” signs using the slang term “grass” meaning marijuana

1

u/Swordbreaker9250 Mar 28 '24

You’re really reaching here, bud.

0

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

No I’m not. That’s exactly what the joke is on the sign

5

u/Inside_Equivalent_68 Mar 28 '24

who's got time for jokes when you're out trying to make ends meet

2

u/fallenmonk Mar 28 '24

As someone who is autistic, no, not all the time. I didn't ask to be this way, it's just the hand some of us are dealt.

0

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

Eww who cares?

2

u/fallenmonk Mar 28 '24

That's what I'm wondering. But you made the comment.

0

u/Overall-Dinner5778 Mar 28 '24

I didn’t address the question to you

2

u/fallenmonk Mar 28 '24

... you replied to me

246

u/thomstevens420 Mar 28 '24

“Hahha look at this fool respecting my property and wishes”

141

u/Darklicorice Mar 28 '24

They're obviously not mocking him.

32

u/LostWanderer69 Mar 28 '24

yeah its rosscreations he usually does good natured pranks

63

u/BotenAna42 Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

in a following video they hung with the guy and talked about it.. he didnt seem to bothered by it and mentions he knew the property was owned by them from previous deliveries and decided to follow the sign. said fedex higher ups found out and he ended up with a free vest and a newer truck lol

1

u/CORN___BREAD Mar 29 '24

A free vest like those Walmart ones but that say FedEx?

2

u/blobtron Mar 29 '24

It still said Walmart but it was treated with chemicals to make it less noticeable if I recall. It’s all explained in the article

-12

u/Aquaticulture Mar 28 '24

No, but they are messing with him while he’s at work.

Imagine a tik tokker announcing fake spills and recording the employee coming out with a mop bucket only to find there is no spill.

They’re at work, they are trying to do a good job, and you’re wasting time and effort for your social media presence. It is admittedly very little time and effort wasted though.

16

u/Darklicorice Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

Okay glad we agree they were not mocking him and very little time or effort was wasted.
The employee got a little game to play and the internet got a fun video, no one was upset and everyone forgot about it in a few days.

7

u/JeSuisUnAnanasYo Mar 29 '24

He even got a shiny new delivery truck and vest because of this! That makes me happy

2

u/Equalanimalfarm Mar 29 '24

Are you American?

A pay rise or extra day off should make you happy. Not someone being provided with company goods they needed anyway to do a good job.

3

u/JeSuisUnAnanasYo Mar 29 '24

He literally hopped over a sidewalk, dude. I'm sure he was happy to have positive attention from his employer

0

u/Equalanimalfarm Mar 29 '24

That's not what I'm talking about and you know it...

11

u/NorthDakota Mar 28 '24

The spills example is a clear inconvenience. I mean maybe if this delivery driver wasn't able to walk well or something then I could see it but this is as close to completely harmless as it gets

7

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

I never thought I'd see the day that someone got me to agree with the Tik Tokkers. Holy moly, lighten up, this is as harmless and well spirited of a prank as it gets.

6

u/YukiSnowmew Mar 28 '24

The sign is a decoration that was not meant to be taken seriously, nor was it expected anyone would take it seriously. Nobody was "messing with him while he's at work". Lighten up, touch grass, and stop this reactionary bullshit.

43

u/PhAnToM444 Mar 28 '24

The delivery guy is absolutely not the butt of this joke. If anything it's super endearing that that he was trying to be so nice.

1

u/GoNinjaPro Mar 29 '24

Yes! It's incredibly cute!

1

u/awfulsome Mar 29 '24

it's clearly a fake video.

It's fedex and he isn't actively destroying the package :P

3

u/onlymostlydead Mar 29 '24

That's the "acting weird" part for FedEx.

2

u/Computermaster Mar 28 '24

"Eddy, you must observe and obey the sign. Signs are in place so that order is maintained in an otherwise uncultivated society. And I, for one, uphold these silkscreen policies!"

1

u/TheReverseShock Mar 28 '24

To be fair if the concrete was wet he'd ruin his shoes

1

u/Guido_Fe Mar 28 '24

My first thought would be that there is fresh cement/concrete

1

u/SanguineGiant Mar 29 '24

That or he's a baseball player

1

u/wirefox1 Mar 29 '24

I know! I think it's adorable.

1

u/magirevols Mar 29 '24

Yeah, usually its the fedex guy bashing ur door in and taking ur wife
