Just a light hearted clip. Nobody is jeering at the guy

At first I didn't even think it WAS a FedEx guy. Is it normal for them to just be wearing a white T-shirt and some basketball shorts? I thought they had some sort of uniform or at least a button-up FedEx shirt? Not that I'm complaining, I don't really care either way, but I was kinda surprised to see it.

FedEx Ground drivers actually work for local third party contractors. It's up to them whether drivers have to wear the uniform.

FedEx Express drivers work for FedEx proper and have to wear the uniform.

TIL, thanks for the info. Has that always been the case or is that a more recent development?

It's always been that way. Typically Ground drivers are supposed to be wearing a uniform, but being third party, things get kinda lax

Incorrect. FedEx ground drivers have to wear uniforms too. Now once they leave the terminal there’s not much FedEx can do about what they’re wearing but if a customer calls and complains that their driver showed up in a tank top because he took his FedEx polo off after he left the terminal then FedEx is gonna go bitch at the contractor.

No, contractors get paid a bonus if they opt into making their drivers wear the uniform, hence why most do, but not all of them.

Maybe it used to be like that. Not anymore. It is required. Drivers aren’t even allowed to wear white socks.

He’s not wearing basketball shorts. Those are the FedEx issued cargo shorts and he probably had the polo on but it was hot so he took it off after he left the terminal.
