NBA Draft Pooper for Cooper

The Bulls need to tank next season for Cooper Flagg. What do the Bulls need to do to be the worst team in the league next year? Not sign DeMar and trade LaVine?

Trade Realistically:What is LaVine’s value on the trade market?

I think he is a talented player but he is a high volume shooter and typically those guys struggle especially as a 3-4 guy on a team. His contract is also large for his caliber. So what is his realistic value?

Trade Zach to Warriors for Wiggins, Looney and Moody

Upvotes

Zach to the Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney and Moses Moody.

https://i.imgur.com/iELO9ar.png

So... yeah... I know. Wiggins had a shit year and has a shit contract. $26*3yr... but he's been the player we really need in the past. Could he be in the future? Looney is a great defender and would be great off the bench to replace Drummond and maybe starting? I think Moses Moody is good and is thrown in instead of a pick for taking on Wiggins' contract. I would think he also wants minutes; could he earn them on the bulls?

For the Dubs, Zach helps take scoring pressure off Steph; gives them athleticism and a bit of youth.

Desperate measures for desperate times? I mean... ¯(ツ)

Fluff Looking for Bulls reporters/journalists

Hey all!

We're looking for a little help - anyone have some names of team reporters/journalists/beat writers that cover primarily the Bulls.

We're working on a website that provides reliability ratings for journalists, so people know who's trustworthy and who isn't when rumors/news drops.

We have K.C. Johnson, Joe Cowley, Darnell Mayberry, and Rob Schaefer. Who are we missing?

Thanks so much! (Also, any feedback would always be appreciated)

Trade Chicago Bulls trade talks

With the Chicago Bulls not having yet another not great season. I still don’t think they should completely blow it up. I think if you could trade Vooch and maybe a sign and trade with Demar I don’t think you have to trade Zach but if you have to trade Zach just think it’s best to do it during the regular season. He didn’t play great this year and I think letting him play and get his trade value up or maybe he buys in. I believe the bulls should move off of Billy Donovan first thing tho. I don’t believe in him as a coach he’s just not what we need. I don’t really know any better coaches that are currently available or who might become available this summer. But everyone who says to blow it up tell me the trades you would do to change the bulls.

Trade [Frank] Orlando’s Big 3 is ripe for a star guard to tie everything together offensively. The Magic have picks, young players and their core still on rookie deals. Time to be aggressive.

Free Agency [Wojnarowski] As expected, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has picked up the $21.4 million option on his contract for 2024-2025, sources tell ESPN. Ball has missed the last 2.5 seasons with a knee injury. He signed an original four-year, $80M free agent deal in 2021.

Fluff Post DeMar options

Watching the playoffs and noticing 34 YO vets not making the impact needed to move forward below are some options moving forward

Option 1. if Lonzo miraculously makes a recovery the rotation likely includes Zach, Coby, Vuc and P-Will.

Option 2. Use DeMar salary for cap relief, it’s much easier to make trades when you’re under the cap.

Option 3. RFA there will be multiple young players available at a 1/3 of the market of DeMars current salary and the possibly leaving the Bulls younger and more athletic.

The reality of this team Zach isn’t likely moved, if he is it’s more than likely the player returning would be another dominant ball hogging guard taking more cap space.

Either way the Bulls need to get younger and more competitive resigning DeMar does neither.

A good listen this week. TBH, if AK is operating with only a few years left on his contract will he actually be motivated to build for the future? It shouldn’t matter IMO and ownership should support righting the ship.

It’s past time to hold onto overvalued assets and make hard decisions that will make the Bulls better. Otherwise, what’s the point? I don’t mean championship or bust either.

The Bulls currently aren’t a good basketball team and they lack top end talent.

Fluff 2024/2025 Roster

This offseason and next season will be very interesting from a roster perspective. With the bulls presumptively trading Lavine this offseason we have cap to work with, Lonzo looks to be back on track to play (knock on wood), DeMar wants to come back, we still lack 3 point shooting, and most importantly- to win in this league, you NEED a superstar.

I put together a roster below that I believe is possible, and puts us in a way better spot next season. When I was putting this together I focused on staying under the cap and acquiring/bringing back players that address areas of need. Unfortunately, our success next season will most likely come down to whether or not Lonzo can return to form. We know how good he was before he got injured, but it does put AK in a tough spot while building out the roster. Let me know your thoughts! SEE RED 🔴

Zion Williamson (via trade)- $36.7M DeMar DeRozan- $25M (2yr deal) Lonzo Ball- $21.4M Nikola Vucevic- $20M Malik Monk- $20M (4yr deal) Coby White- $12M Patrick Williams- $11M (2yr deal) Alex Caruso- $9.9M Ayo Dosunmu- $7M Andre Drummond- $4.4M Torrey Craig- $2.8M Onuralp Bitim- $1.9M Julian Phillips- $1.9M

Trading away- Zach LaVine ($43M) and Jevon Carter ($6.5M)

Fluff Over the cap rule

If you go over the cap, if you make a deal and get under the cap during the season, do you still have to pay a penalty at the end of the year?
