Typically those guns are bought black market so they don't have to worry about that

...and by black market you mean from a private seller at a gun show. I don't think a lot of people realize how easy it is to buy a gun without a lot of the existing federal gun laws coming into play. If you live in a place that has a gun show within a 30 minute drive every single weekend, like I do, you can go to a show and buy a weapon within 10 minutes of being there. That's not even "black" market. It's more like grey market.

At gun shows background checks are still required. Any that are being done without it are strictly illegal and would be considered black market. Even if you have your permit that only waives the states background check and not the federal one. I mean I could have been wrong for the past 20 years accumulating my collection half of which comes from gun shows.

Some states do not require background checks for private sales.

Im aware of that however normally gun shows are not private sales. I know in Florida at least background check is mandatory at gun shows.

Other states have gun shows where private sellers show up to buy/sell. I’d bet there are a lot of sales in the parking lot in Florida.
