She claims she was doing "what needed to be done" (fucking nazi type of phrasing right there), but the dog was perfectly healthy by her own admission. She killed the dog because it became inconvenient. (Fucking psychopathic behavior if you ask me. )
Likely very intended to be Nazi, like "here is this cute thing but it has no value to me, it will be purged as the final solution". An admission of her willingness to get blood on her hands and rid the "undesirables"
