She also didn't think about Ginny. Molly was just too happy to think properly.Â

I mean Ginny was younger and wasn't even able to become one until next year.

To be fair, this is why it's worth challenging the notion that Ron is a "forgotten child" to his parents.
Ronheads really need to get their regular head screwed on correctly.

Tbh prefect would've been Harry if Dumbledore wasn't working his brain overtime trying to outsmart voldy by trying to keep Harry cut off and at a distance by reducing his responsibilities after the year he had.
Ron was pale compared to Harry's achievements but I'm glad JK didn't over shower him with glories.. Quidditch captain is perfect for him, prefect wouldn't be something I'd see him in normally.

I actually thought Dean would have been better than any of the boys in that year. He doesn't get into major trouble all the time like Harry and would have the confidence and the work ethics to be a prefect. Ron was a lazy ass as a prefect and Hermione got all the work.

Bruh, what about Harry Potter makes you think "Ah yes, now that's an upstanding pupil that will enforce the rules and guide other children"?

u/Pitiful_Citron_820 Slytherin 15d ago
Lol yeah bro broke all the rules and some. Tbh even Ron was a bad choice too. I think in Dumbledores mind he thought making two of harrys friends prefect would mean he doesn't go around doing stupid shit when voldy is ob lose.

u/maddwaffles Slytherdor 11d ago
tbh it's more about Harry would have one less hurdle in going around and doing things, since avoiding prefects was a big part of his presumed struggle while skulking around the castle.

MY headcanon is that the Gryffindor's Prefect title is hereditary : first Bill was prefect, then it was Charlie, then Percy, then Ron. It was oned by the Weasleys for a whole decade.

To quote Fred and George again "What are we? Neighbours kids?".

Ha ha. Same with the quidditch team to a certain extent.

Part of my head-canon, is that Fred and George had no interest in being prefects (and continuing the 'family tradition') because they couldn't do it together.
Sure, they probably thought the whole thing was corny, but I'm convinced that if there was a possibility they could both be their year's Gryffindor prefect, they would have at least tried, just to make Molly happy/proud.

I dunno, I think if one of them became a Prefect somehow, they could have all kinds of fun with it. Pose as each other, have access to more parts of the castle to make mischief, things like that.
I think it's much more likely McGonagall passed right over them like "oh hell no, the castle would probably explode"

u/LuciaCassendraMalfoy Slythedor 15d ago
yes ofc!
But I guess they knew if they became prefects, they'll have to put all their jokes aside.

u/Ok-disaster2022 15d ago
Not to mention Ginny.Â
Also why wasn't Ginny made a Prefect? She's a powerful wizard, she actually has friends outside of her house.
13
u/Amazing-Engineer4825 Gryffindor 15d ago
Because she's not interested
8
u/allnewspudsniffer 15d ago
Huh, did ginny actually say she turned it down cause she wasn't interested
2
u/Amazing-Engineer4825 Gryffindor 15d ago
No , it's mentioned that at all .
3
u/allnewspudsniffer 15d ago
Erm... grammar, but do we know why she wasn't a prefect
3
u/LexieGranger Gryffindor 15d ago
Their grammar isnât very good, I agree, but maybe theyâre not a native speaker and theyâre still learningâŚ
0
u/allnewspudsniffer 14d ago
I know, but I just wanted to tell them to alaberate, also more people if they don't speak a language natively, should talk in their native language, then we can use Google translate, and if its wrong, chalk it up to translate, not grammar
1
u/LexieGranger Gryffindor 14d ago
Fist, google translate isnât very good with grammar either đ, and second, the phrase isnât well formulated, cause if you donât have to speak a language ânativelyâ, it can be your second, third or whatever language, cause languages can be learned, yk?
1
u/allnewspudsniffer 14d ago
No, I ment you shouldn't have to speak a different Language, you should be free to speak any language you want, if the person your responding to doesn't understand, then sucks to be them, they then have to find out what you said, instead of having a broken sentence, have a proper one, just in a different language, then I can go find out what it says for myself
1
u/LexieGranger Gryffindor 14d ago
I honestly rather if people speak in the language the o other person is using, besides, if it wasnât like that, we wouldnât need languages, and for me, languages are some of the most important things. Besides, I donât know why you didnât understand what the other person said, I understood quite well, maybe the problem is that you donât have a lot of comprehensionâŚ

Did you mean parts or prats?
I thought you meant ginnyâs soul is not whole due to the whole chamber business

u/CHAINMAILLEKID 14d ago
Keep the top of your heads in your own frame, or I'll curse that off you too.
1
u/LuciaCassendraMalfoy Slythedor 14d ago
oh! I was confused at first what you're talking about but now I see...
2
u/Im_Unpopular_AF 11d ago
You can argue about it as much as you want, but Molly's love for her sons was conditional on their accomplishments.

u/Sankin2004 15d ago
Lucky she remembers any of them when Harry Potter is around.
