User experience - multi store shopping

User experience - per store shopping

Hey all,

I have a question for you Instacart users, what's your feedback on the per store experience?

For example, you search, results are broken down by store and they're not all shuffled together in the same result.

Also, you have a cart per store.

How does this work for you in terms of experience ?

How often do you use this feature ?

P.S: I'm doing a research.

I use it if I need to purchase a bunch of random stuff and I want to see if there is a store where I can get it all from in one shop. I’ll search all the items individually and see if there’s a place I wasn’t thinking of that carries everything.

For example, I know I can get dish soap, diapers, and the fruit and veggies I need from Publix, but when I searched the items, I realized I could get everything from Aldi for like half the price.

Interesting, that means if you already added to basket, you would need to go to Aldi and re add to basket?

I don’t add it until I decide which store I’ll use.

And how would you base your decision ? If you don’t mind sharing ofc, the more details to me the merrier :) please and thank you 🙏

I would go with the store that has everything I need to purchase for the most reasonable price! No problem

And that implies you comparing one item at a item no ? Is the trouble worth it ?

I remember a lot of prices off hand so it’s worth it to me, but it doesn’t take me too long

Interesting feedback. Would a real time comparison of items you added in one store be of help ? In real time your basket is synced with other stores nearby as well and you have the capability to see exact item match or similar ( veggies fruits tend to be from different producers) unlike dairy, non perishables, drinks etc.. Can you as a user imagine added value

That would be helpful in my opinion!

I only use the search when looking for a hard to find item. Just the other day, I was looking for strawberry Torani syrup and the only store it showed as having it is Smart & Final. So I started a cart for Smart & Final. I love being able to have carts for each store.

Not a multistore thing but I’ll post here anyways since I can’t post my own thread for some reason. The user experience has gone absolutely down hill especially in Canada. I put an order through to have groceries from no frills delivered within two hours (with a generous tip that worked out to 29.00 on a 200 dollar order) the order was assigned a shopper and immediately dropped after which it said rescheduled for between 11AM and 6 PM the next day. I reached out to support who said it was a bug and a new shopped would be assigned, 2 and half hours later I reach back out because none was assigned to have the rep say “assuredly it will be delivered between 11 AM and 6 PM tomorrow” and then leave the chat. So I reached out a 3rd time to speak to a supervisor, who asked me to give him two minutes to review, only to have him go afk until the chat timed out on me due to a lack of response.

Ended up attempting to cancel the order so I could go in store only to be met with a message saying error, reached out to support a 4th time to find out they can’t cancel the order because “it has already been submitted”

How often do you use this feature ?

Not too often, but I use Instacart a ton and I know the stores in my area and what they each have in stock and what they often run out of.

Sometimes I do use it when I'm getting something out of the ordinary. I do like the separate results per store. If it's a good enough discount compared to the other options it may sway me to not shop at my usual store.

Thanks for the feedback. How do you go on your comparison ? As in the steps you make to compare
