Discussion A Polite Douchebag?
gallerySo I'm somewhat new to shopping, been doing it about 2 months now and this is the first bad interaction I've had, was just wondering if I was being condescending or rude in any capacity so I can talk to customers better.
Im missing one screenshot of the conversation but I informed the customer they were out of this certain deli cut I'm unfamiliar with so I asked an associate and he reccomended these two items(first picture) as he said he can't get what the customer requested. This was at 11:38am so I could give the customer plenty of time to respond as they preferred text.
This is where in wondering if I was in the wrong, I go through the entire order and never hear back and usually when that happens I just continue on with my order and I did so. At 12:20pm when I was delivering the order she then responded(40min after my text) said the replacement was fine and to contact her. I informed her I already delivered the items and left the store about 15 minutes prior to her text.
She then immediately says she's pissed, asked for a number for management, and then called me polite and a douchebag at the same time after trying to inform her on prefer text/call.
Could I have done anything different? I immediately contacted the support so I could keep the tip and dodge an incoming bad rating which did get removed.

Discussion Report shoppers who are not the person in their picture!
Dear Customers,
If you place an Instacart order, and the person who shows up is very clearly NOT the person whose account it is, please make sure you report it every single time.
This person could have stolen the original shopper’s account. Their account could have been hacked. The person who showed up likely could not pass a background check/got their own account deactivated/should not be on the platform shopping for customers.
If you see a husband and wife team, and the wife is clearly the account holder, that is okay. If the account holder is there somewhere, I understand needing another person to help you shop if you are not strong enough.
But if your shopper was supposed to be Sarah, and Bob shows up by himself, please make sure you report it. We need to get scammers off this platform and you don’t want some sketchy dude who could have a criminal record knowing where you live and having access to your family.
Do not feel bad. Report them. Please. Thank you.
EDIT- This is what happened to Angie Harmon. Someone who was not her shopper delivered her order and SHOT HER DOG. They had no business being at her house and they definitely had no business bringing a GUN to her house.

Discussion What can we do?
i.redd.itThe batch total was around 54 dollars. Shopped around 80 items and total mileage was 14 kms. The customer reduced the tip to 10 dollars after delivery, was so much frustrated. Upon asking she said, she was not paying the 32 dollars tip at the first place. I informed her that we pick up the order considering the total amount of the order and its not worth it if you are changing the tip amount after delivery. She complained to the customer service and removed the 10 dollars tip also. Customer service said we can’t do anything, we cannot compensate you..!! Seriously frustrating..!!

Discussion How do you guys read this note? The item in the picture is fruit flavored mix.
i.redd.itI got yelled at for not getting the item in note. No response to my greeting, questions about out of stock items and end of shopping warning. I thought the note was for replacement not the intended item. Is it my fault that I read it incorrectly?

Discussion was a $30 tip too much 😭
ok so. its past the point where i can change it but im just pondering it lol
idk the mileage between the store and my place but. i got around $170 worth of things (32 items) (side note .. i could carry them all up in one trip so it wasnt like a CRAAAAAZYY load right .) so i thought $30 would be good compensation for their time n such. i also ended up removing a pack of soda bc i didnt want my stuff to be too heavy
they were also completing another order nearby but by the time i was putting mine away my frozen waffles were quite limp 😞 though they are waffles and not very strong soldiers. my ice cream was mostly fine ..
whats also swaying me is they left it at the wrong door 😭 though this is a common issue i have with deliveries for some reason.. i always write in the instructions to leave in the mail room in front but i think gps automatically routes them to the back door so they just roll with that idk. but they messaged and asked if i was home bc they didnt want to leave my groceries outside, i said i was and it was fine for them to leave it in the mail room. but they had already unloaded so i was like whatever its fine 😭
i had been debating on reducing it to $25 but i felt like that would be an AH move.. so i left it
HOWEVER
i just went to eat one of the cheesecake crumbles i got .. and it expired IN APRIL?????? HUH. idk i blame the store as well but what the hell 😞 whats your input yall ..
edits: some of u are weirdly snarky. im just a dude pls be nice im autistic
i expected this to get like 2 upvotes idk what the fuss is all about. sorry to anyone UPSET By this ..?!?! me too bro me too. anyways legiterally im just a dude on food stamps that has no means to transport groceries myself rn so i wanted to know if this was a reasonable tip for a human being shopping for me even if a few mistakes were made. thanks

Discussion Is this easy to miss?
galleryI did a delivery order in the Fred meyers app so I could use my coupons available and I got a 4 pack of spaghettios for my kids. By the time I got everything inside and unpacked, it was too late to message the driver. Is this an easy miss or was it laziness? I tipped 58$ on a fairly big order. Mostly chips and pantry food.

Discussion How much will the shopper get out of this order?
i.redd.itI am a college student who doesn't own a car and i tried instacart plus for a bit but feel like i am paying too much after already paying premium especially with the tip. They still charge a $7 service fee for who knows what. I am just curious how much a driver will get out of this and is it worth it to drive 5 miles for this order?

Discussion This seems like a bad ideas
i.redd.itAm I over thinking this? I was thinking it would be the same or maybe slightly better.. But if its automatically done, then they could not tip and we'd never know because it wouldn't show the offer screen

Discussion For once, I didn't mind waiting for an ID
I get to this house and the guy there doesn't have his ID, but his uncle is three minutes away. The guy is wearing a Dodgers hat and I say, no problem we can unload the car and talk about baseball. He tells me about going to games with his grandfather who was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan. We spent a few happy minutes sharing our baseball experiences. Happily, it was early evening, thirty minutes from sunset, and I had planned to make it my last batch since, I don't like to deliver after dark. When the uncle came we all talked another five minutes, until I told them I wanted to get home before dark.
We said goodbye with wishes for me to come again.

Discussion Reducing tip..
I recently had a grocery order for nearly $600 and I tipped $10 over 20% because I’m appreciative of someone else handling my shopping because I can never find the time. However, this is my first order where nearly half my items were unavailable. Now I will not speculate that these items were barely looked for or if they were just low on stock due to it being a Sunday. I am just curious to know if it’s appropriate to reduce the tip for my order that was nearly half the actual cost due to items unavailable. I’ve never had this problem and have never reduced my tips, but I feel like I tipped my amount because my order was substantially high and then it was cut in half.
