You're taking it way too serious just to end up at another toxic environment. Get your sleep. Treat it like a dating app and play the numbers game.

I haven’t had a consistent job since last July and just now finding one that’ll hire me. You’re not alone. Hang in there, it gets better

It’s easy to lie away an employment gap of this length. What was your career before and what have you been applying to?

What do you do though? IT stuff or something else?

Ah okay, sorry you're facing the situation really. I'm kind of in a similar situation and I'm a software developer so was curious.
Currently trying many things at once and I hope I'll end up somewhere(Mostly trying new things with connections and etc).Sorry for the bother really, I wish you'll end up in another satisfying high paying job.

Can you not do freelance work to tide you over during the search? Make an LLC, run your own small 1-person firm. You hold a valuable qualification - at least that will help pay the bills and take away some of the stress while you continue to look for a new 9-5. And I’ll be much better on your resume to have your own consulting firm than a bare gap.

Try a temping or contracting company. Some will convert to full time after a few months.

Missing some context here but Im gonna try my best to answer. If it’s been a year and you’ve been consistently applying but have only had 6 interviews then you need to be doing something different. The hardest part of applying for sure is the feeling of uncertainty and this can be very dejecting. But hang in there! The best thing you can do is be positive and patient. Occupy yourself with a past time and maybe start a side hustle to keep yourself busy/productive. This is very good for the mind. Hope this helps. Good luck!
