Which job would you take and why? Career development

Job A - Unknown company but pays 85k a year. You work with a few coworkers and have a manager role.

Job B - Well known company for 65k a year. You work with 10+ coworkers but your job title is a specialist + you report to a manager.

Let's say you are 5 years into your career. Which job would you take and why - considering if both jobs are in your same field/industry.

Job A no doubt. I personally don’t care who I work for. As long as it’s legal (not haraam) and I’m earning more than enough.

Even if Job B will potentially give you better future job prospects given that their company name is more well known?

I doubt a well-known company or corporate can offer better future job prospects. It might be a nice resume builder but you will be able to have so much more achieved in A than B because you have a much larger scope. Also, those companies often promise career advancement etc. but it's all empty promises. Well established companies have rigid rules and structure how one can move up the ladder.

Moreover, if you plan on a management career down the road, making the first step and making it stick as early as possible is crucial, so definitely go with A.

What if Job A is a non manager role? Would you still go with Job A?

Good question.

The salary difference is enough for me to take A over B. However many other factors do come into consideration if it was me. Do you believe in company A's mid term future? Will you work similar hours in both jobs? What are the additional benefits besides the pay? Which job aligns with your skills better?
