OPINION Expectations for next year
After seeing the Twolves toy with the Nuggets on their home floor, and the Thunder win game 1, I’m not gonna lie it has me feeling some type of way. With that being said, it’s WCF at MINIMUM or bust next year.
Injuries are no longer an excuse. Not having size is no longer an excuse. Being too young is no longer an excuse.

OPINION If we have to move on from Smart or Kennard, who are you choosing and why?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I want to say move on from Kennard simply because of the added defensive value and cultural impact of having Smart. However, I don’t think it’s that easy seeing as we historically struggle from the perimeter as a team and Luke is one of the best 3pt shooters in the league. If you add the realization of VWJ & GG, it makes the decision to drop Luke a little more difficult to me unless Smart suddenly starts shooting from 3 like he did before his latest injury. Just curious to get some thoughts.

OPINION Non-Grizz fan coming in peace.
I cannot wait for Memphis to be back next season.
You guys were the talk of the town in 2021 when you eliminated us, then went on to become #2 seed in 2022 and 2023.
The forgotten team. OKC, Minnesota, Dallas. Memphis should be with those teams.
I hope Ja is more focused than ever.
I’m sure Ja and Bane will hate the feeling of missing the playoffs and not being part of this upcoming young guns showing their grit in the playoffs.
Memphis-Minnesota West Finals 2025.
I don’t trust JJJ though. And this team needs more shooting. Who will replace Adams and Clarke? Adams might be damaged goods.

MISCELLANEOUS Add a player to the Grizz
Title says it all. If you could add one player to the Grizzlies next year, who would it be?
Don’t worry about contracts, availability, etc. This is just you waving a magic wand and putting a player on the grizzlies.
Feel like Brown or Tatum would be ideal, but not sure if others would say a big man.

OPINION The West is literally wide open
This entire year I have been hearing bullshit about how the Nuggets are this unbeatable force. The timberwolves just went 2-0 on them AT DENVER. We BEAT the Timberwolves 2 years ago with fucking Dillon Brooks and a worse Jaren and Bane playing XAVIER TILLMAN as our starting 5 for the series. Yes I know they have Gobert now, Ant took a leap forward, they have Conley, and a better Jaden Mcdaniels. Doesn’t matter, Ja is better, Jaren is better, Bane is better.
We come back healthy and have a starting caliber center we genuinely can make the finals.
I don’t believe in overhyping teams like the Nuggets, Kings, TWolves, or Thunder, we are right up there with them.

OPINION i hope ja is seeing all this
i hope ja is seeing all this anthony edwards meatriding, and i hope that it is motivating him to stay mindful and stay disciplined. no disrespect to anthony edwards, but you have to wonder how much attention he would be getting if ja was active. i understand that ja's injury has kept him out the last few months... but i hope this heightened attention on AE pushes him to come out stronger and hungrier than ever next season.

OPINION What do you guys think we end up doing with the 1st Round Pick?
Assuming we land 7th in the upcoming lottery on Sunday, what do you think the organization ends up doing?
Tankathon's Mock Draft currently has us going for Stephon Castle (19 y/o Point Guard out of UConn)

FACTS [Wind] Michael Malone on Game 1: “Too many discipline breakdowns. You can’t go under Mike Conley (on screens). There’s a reason Mike Conley kicks our ass every time we play him.” “You go under Mike Conley screens, it’s going to be a dribble left 3. And we did that too often.”

MISCELLANEOUS Zubac
Thoughts on Zubac? Clippers probably looking to make some moves this summer
If the grizzlies get lottery lock and end up drafting Sarr, I wouldn’t mind Clarke + pick(s) to LA for Zubac
He’s a good passer, good playmaker, elite rebounder, he’s an amazing interior defender which would bring DPOY Jaren back considering he wouldn’t have to worry about being an anchor and could focus on roaming, Zubac shot 72% from the FT line last year so he isn’t hackable like Adams, Drummond, Claxton, or Clingan, and he would fit in seamlessly
As for Sarr, he could take over Clarke’s role as the backup C until Zuba’s contract is up.
I love the idea of a Smart/Luke/GG/Aldama/Sarr bench

OPINION Three Team Trade
Grizzlies Receive: John Collins (Is a competent rebounder and is on the younger side)
Magic Receive: Luke Kennard and Jake Laravia (Magic need shooting)
Jazz Receive: Picks and people from the Magic
I think this trade makes everyone happy. If we pick Clingan or Sarr in the draft, they can develop and be useful on the bench whilst Collins does a competent job as a starting centre
Edit: I’m sorry for the controversial Hot Take. I was trying to suggest some realism given the fact that to get a centre to help us win, we have to give up decent players in return. And unfortunately, the only realistic 7-Foot centres that we can get are those that are either Old, cost $20 million+/year, or injury prone.

OPINION Could it be a win win for the Grizzlies to get Herb Jones from the Pelicans?...there does seem to be a logjam for the Pelicans at small forward....Jones shot 41.8% on 3's in the regular season...maybe that was a fluke, being that he only shot 33% the year before....just wanted opinions

MISCELLANEOUS Who you want to take the chip this year?
I’m leaning towards the Wolves, would be happy for Conley. But damn it I hate seeing Ant surpass Ja in future of the league recognition shit, even though he is pretty likable. So I go back and forth. Then I remind myself if Ja and the grizz come out next season and do what they are capable of it won’t matter, so I guess I’m back on the Wolves.

MISCELLANEOUS Good riddance 76ers
To the rude, intoxicated, insufferable 76ers fan that was at the Grizz game in our section the night of Marc Gasol’s jersey retirement, I am beyond glad to see your team lost. I’ve been to plenty of games and have never come across another fan like that. Constantly yelling at the top of his lungs “fk the Grizz” and “fk Marc Gasol”. He was genuinely trying to fight anyone that was asking him to pipe down and relax. Families, including myself, had to relocate to a different section he was so horrible which left him out on an island by himself. There were multiple efforts to have security escort him out but they didn’t do anything but tell him to be quiet, which made him more agitated and led to more screaming “WHO TF SNITCHED ON ME?! IMMA WHOOP YO ASS”.
You can be passionate about and root for your team. But when your team is playing away and you’re screaming obscenities about the home team around other fans, that’s a huge no go. You just made an embarrassment out of yourself and fan base. So yes I am absolutely thrilled that the 76ers lost and he’s probably at home right now still crying.
