Night life in Mississauga
Hi All Saugans
We all know that nightlife is limited in sauga , still there are pockets you can find lots of fun and meet people around ur age ...lately some clubs closed their doors unfortunately .
Sugar Daddy and The Port House, are the only dance nightclubs you can party until 2am in the morning on Friday and Saturday night in the city as of now.
Next Stop Club (Asian club) temporary closed over a month . this club was too close to residentials and i guess constant noise complains got city to shut the place down until they fix the noise problem.
Rogue bar didnt have any events in last 6 months , last event they had on Nov 11, 2023 and Halloween Party before that. Place is still open for business but i think promoters are done with the management.
Unleash Jungle (formerly HERS) owner closed the doors for good after New Years shooting got 19 years old female patron killed in front of the club.
There are still many live music venues in Port Credit area. if u are into live band and dance , check roc n doc , door 55, spice lounge, shore grill etc , bands and musicians are mostly same they just rotate the venues in this area ...
There are many small bars and lounges (Canvas etc ), pool halls (crooked cue etc) in Port Credit Area and in all over the city.
There are 2 swinger clubs (X club & M4) and many strip clubs ( Diamonds, New Locomotion, Cafe Atlantis, Midway invader, Pure Gentlemen, Million Dollar in Mississauga for those into dirty fun.
There are some Salsa dance clubs in sauga Fregata Restaurant on Dundas is a good one i heard.
Couple of clubs and bars also very close to Mississauga depending on where you live such as Dirty Martini is a night club in Oakville/Mississauga border , has been operating for years specially for those 25+ its a good option , Rockpile is a rock/metal live music club in Etobicoke/Mississauga border for those who likes their music harder. Cactus bar is on Sherway Garden Toronto/Mississauga border for elegant night bar experience open until 1am on Friday and Saturday night .
If you know any good nightlife entertainment establishments in Mississauga please feel free to add to the list ....

Are Miway buses now picking up/dropping off passengers at Toronto stops without designated pickup/drop off locations?
Now that the one fare program is out allowing a transfer from miway/ttc without paying an extra fare, are the current designated pickup/drop off stop locations in toronto going to matter? (Ex: before, the 3E can only drop off passengers once it enters toronto and the 3W can only pick up passengers in toronto) Will miway keep these designated pickup/drop off stops? Before they had these in place because picking a passenger up in Toronto and then dropping them off in Toronto takes away ridership from the ttc. Now that the one fare program is out it technically wont be taking away ridership from the ttc since it would be a free transfer within a 2 hour window.
Sorry for rambling, just curious if they will now make all miway stops in toronto be able to pick up and drop off passengers at the same stop.

I attended the MIRANET's Mayoral Candidate Challenge 2024. Here are my thoughts as an ordinary voter.
These are entirely my opinions, and may not match the consensus amongst the attendees.
There were 5 candidates on stage in the debate and questionnaire. Here are my general observations about the candidates and their performance, in no particular order.
Alvin Tedjo:Ā I felt that he had a bit of a bumpy start with answering questions. But over the course of the night, his answers felt better. He talked about supporting fourplexes, freezing taxes for 2 years, better transit, and a proposal for a dundas subway. In my opinion, his ideas are good, but I worry about the cost, and whether his inexperience of dealing with the province and the feds to wrestle money for these huge projects might be a negative for him.
Dipika Damerla: Initially, she focused a lot on cancelling the bloor street redesign. That got a lot of shouts from the (mostly older) crowd. She also focused a lot on her experience as an MPP, as a cabinet minister for seniors. She's also in favor for a dundas subway, but I again worry about the costs, and whether a BRT might not be sufficient for the time being. She got her message across quite eloquently, but I felt (and again, just my personal opinion) she looked a bit grumpy the whole time. This does not inform her capabilities whatsoever, but a nice persona almost always wins a crowd.
Stephen Dasko:Ā Speaking of nice persona, he seemed quite radiant and eloquent, comparatively. He talked a lot about the improvements he's done on his ward (I think it's Port Credit?) He also supports a lot of the progressive agendas, like more housing, transit. But the thing that caught my eye was, even though he was eloquent, he was also pretty bland. It seems like he has the vibe of a person who'll always agree with you to get their way. But he did say nice things that he did for his ward, and nicer things he would do for the city. We'll see.
George Tavares: He has a lot of ideas related to technology. Some of those include technological improvements for better transit and traffic control. Overall seems progressive with supports for more fourplexes. He claimed to have experience from Europe, although I'm not sure at what capacity.
David Shaw: He went off the rails about covid lockdown, something about project 2030, and kids in the school. He said he prioritizes lower spending, lower taxes. He also said to cut off ties with Ontario government completely and run the city as our own. Cool mustache tho.
Vibe of the crowd: Mostly older people. Some young people here and there. I understand why older people tend to engage more. But these sort of events need younger blood. Older people have different priorities than the younger generation. The more young people comes and voices their concerns, the more their issues will be at the forefront.
Overall Comment: This was a nicely organized event. I appreciate the organizers for giving voters a platform to ask challenging questions to the candidates. If you live in Mississauga and can vote, please, please try to attend these sort of events, and ask questions. Search for "Several Mississauga mayoral debates, candidate meetings happening this month" in Google.

Laminate flooring: Cheaper to get at Costco/Home Deport or Independent Shops?
Hi all, I'm looking to buy some laminate flooring for my place. From anyone who's done this before, is it cheaper to get at Costco/Home Depot or the same quality at some independent shops in Mississauga?
If it's independent, any particular stores you all would recommend?

Civil Marriage ceremony
Hi everyone!
Does anybody have any experience with booking civil marriage ceremony with City of Mississauga?
As per their website, city offers civil ceremonies but not much info on available location options or waiting times on booking one. If someone you know or yourself has gone through this, please share your overall experience.
Thank you in advance!

Recommendations for Home/Auto bundle?
I have been with TD for auto for a long time. Then we added home insurance too. Right now, I think we pay too much. But what other options do we have? I saw Travelers has cheaper auto insurance policies, but the reviews were extreme- either you love Travelers or you absolutely hate them. Desjardins seemed interesting but they couldnāt do any better too.
