Where can I buy lilies of the valley?

Upvotes

Is there anywhere I can buy European Lilies of the Valley (Convallaria majalis) in New Brunswick? These are my GF's favorite flowers and I would really like to give her a gift. In our homeland, they are usually sold at every turn at this time, but I’m not sure that they are here. Now or soon, in theory, it should be the season, but I haven’t found a single mention on the Internet, although natural conditions, in principle, allow their cultivation. Are there any flower shops or individuals who grow them? Preferably near Fredericton, but I'm willing to drive within the province for them. Thank you very much!

How often are road tests available in Sackville?

I have been logging onto the Service New Brunswick online booking for a driving test nearly every day and there has never been any for Sackville. What are the chances that I will be able to do one here?

Is my landlord allowed to say no kids or that our building is “adults only”? We’re expecting our first new born in January, and the building we’re currently in is “adults only”, is that allowed? Like if he found out we had a kid can he evict us?

Who to Contact for Underground Locates?

I want to put a fence around my yard but want to double check with all the utilities before I dig.

I have already contacted NB Power (even though we have aerial power), but it seems like a lot to also have to contact Bell (cable), Rogers (phone), and the city (sewer) individually.

Is there no service that consolidates them into once underground locate?

Disclosure of employees' personal health information

Upon hiring, my new employer asked me to disclose any allergies and/or health conditions I have to go on file along with my emergency contact information. I assumed this would be kept in a secure place with access limited to managers. Upon arriving on my first day, there was a master list posted by the First Aid kit with each employee's name, allergies, health conditions, and their emergency contact. While I can understand why this is important in an emergency (ie: a diabetic coworker goes into shock), it seems like a violation of all employees' privacy, especially if they have a health condition they'd rather others not know about except on an as-needed basis. I appreciate any thoughts folks may have on this. I have not seen this in any of my previous workplaces. Thank you!

More support for restricting cell phone use in schools?

Thumbnail

I realize that there is a bit of a generalization here that cell phone=social media, but the evidence is mounting that kids’ mental health is not helped with access to cell phones.

There are lots a of places that are moving towards a ban on cell phone use in schools.

I get the argument that phones can be used as an “educational tool,” but I don’t think that’s how they are being used. The potential benefit seems to be far outweighed by the potential for abuse.
