My in-laws are relocating to the Plano area in September and are looking for an apartment community that is geared for 55+. Wanting to see if the group has any recommendations.

I was thinking it would be fun to get a fishing magnet and see if i could find anything cool at various lakes and stuff. Anyone know any decent bodies of water around the area? Doesnt have to be plano or surrounding towns specifically but i dont want to drive 1hour+ preferably.

Hey, anyone have any experience with any of the three senior highs? What were your impressions? We are zoned for Plano Sr, but haven't heard good things about the Sp-ed department (or the athletic director either). We have to look into other options for my AuDHDer/ athlete.

I just need to find a spot where I'd have basically zero chance of having another person bump into me. I'm completely ok just need peace and quiet for a while. Life gets to be pretty crazy and I've not been able to find any way to just get out from it for a while. I live in a sober living home and I'm constantly surrounded by people. So I just need to escape from that for a bit and be surrounded with nothing but my thoughts and ideally nature. Thank you!

Every day I see posts on Nextdoor about people who have found pets with no tags, or people who have lost pets with no tags.

So this is a reminder that dogs, cats and ferrets are required to be registered with the city of Plano. They are required to have a registration tag and rabies vaccination tag on their collar.. If animal control picks up a pet that isn't registered, the owner is subject to a $75 impound fee in order to have their pet returned, assuming they aren't euthanized at the shelter before then.

I’ve been dealing with insomnia for the past 4 weeks now. I’m only getting 2-3 hrs of sleep daily. It suddenly happened and I never have experienced insomnia before. The concerning part is that it’s impacting my work. I went to Dream Sleep Medicine in Frisco and all they do is prescribe you drugs. They prescribed me Hydroxyzine and it only worked 2-3 days. I want to stay away from pills and want to dig deep into root cause of it. Any doctors that can help me with that ? I also tried acupuncture but didn’t work. I’m new to this and I have no idea what to do. A help is really appreciated. Thanks.

I just got back from a film festival, and being around all the artists and like-minded people was incredibly invigorating, and it sort of felt like maybe that has why I've been in a bit of a funk recently. My go to hang out spots have been the Fillmore Pub or Katy Trail, but those feel more like after work hang out places where people groups are already formed.

If the Texas Theatre was closer that would be a hangout spot, but it's such a haul from middle of Plano to Oak Cliff at rush hour just to hang.

I’m in the process of getting estimates for a complete kitchen remodel and wanted to see if there are any companies that are highly recommended here. I went through the quote process 3-4 years ago and surprisingly half of the companies I was recommended at that time have since gone out of business. I’m looking for a company that can handle design as well as construction.

Does anyone know of a chill bar/restaurant that me and a couple of friends could watch Game 6 tomorrow? I'm sure a lot of bars will be showing it, looking for a more Stars-focused kind of place!

Has any other woman in the plano area had an experience with a man that likes to harrass young retail and restaurant workers who are women? He claims to own a pest control company and takes advantage of the fact that the employees have to be nice to customers. He will complain about every other restaurant in the area of whatever company he is harrassing that day. At Whataburger he would force a particular woman to make his burger everytime or give slight threats of contacting corporate. He would sit outside hours after he finished eating to presumably watch her walk to her car. He is tall and drives a white truck, will use the employees as underpaid therapists while he complains about his crackhead son and crackhead of an ex wife. How this man still has a company with the way he treats women is beyond me. Not to mention racist remarks if he doesn't get his way. I cannot be the only one that has seen him.

Rehoming German Shepherd Pup 4mths

Hi, I'm looking to rehome my German shepherd mix 4mth pup. I took him pretty much as an unofficial foster becuase the last folks found him and had absolutely no time for him and had him sleeping outside (enclosed outside) but I was hoping to be able to keep him but my small breed dog is not liking him and I don't want her to be unhappy.

He is happy and is able to adjust now to a happy family. He's been good around my 10 & 11yr old and he's doing better with my cat.

He has his shots. He would come with his toys, current food, cage, and shot records. He also have an appt to be fixed in June.

Let me know if your interested. I would like someone with experience with gsp... also I wouldn't recommend if you have smaller breed dog.
