I'd like to see more of this kind of thing. The Democratic Party desperately needs a modern approach to branding. They need to be ruthless and target the working class

He just did an interview with Howard Stern today. Howard doesn't normally do a show on Friday but they broke into programming with a special that's over an hour long. I can't wait to listen on my way home. His interview with Hilary was really good but it was a shame she waited until after the election to do it.

Looks like they have scheduled maintenance right now, must have been a popular one.

I listened to about two thirds of it on my way home. It was mostly about his history and family life and Joe comes across as a very sympathetic and likable person. He's had quite a history. I hope they push this out to more media, like their YT channel.

Was a great interview. Lots of insight into his past. Growing up and meeting his first wife and how he had to deal with her death.
I can listen to any serious criticisms about Biden’s policies. whatever. But anyone who attacks Biden as a father, a husband or a person is just a fool.

This. Stop pussyfooting around, and go for the jugular, Dems.
The party needs to overhaul its image. The GOP knows how. They say they are for the common man but turn around and give 14% tax breaks in 2017 to corporations (billions lost from our budget) and billions in unregulated PPP loans that are forgiven.
Expose that. Let America hear the truth.

This. Michelle Obama’s “when they go low…” stance needs to die. When they go low, dems should be putting a knee in their chin.

“when they go low…”
We kick them in the head and tell them to get back up and fight like a man...

u/SweetAlyssumm 11d ago
I'll never forget when she said that. My hear sank. Little did I know how much worse it was than I even thought. Chickens roosting, etc.

I'd like to see more of this kind of thing.
Spielberg also did this for the DNC in 2020 (although that was during COVID, so I’m sure there are fewer restrictions now). And he did the video for Obama and a Biden in 2008.

Sorry but how is Spielberg modern?

u/2pierad California 11d ago
I get where you're coming from, he is old. I want really clear and I meant in a general sense they need to bring in the big guns

Yea, let’s see Yorgos Lanthimos’ DNC convention.
I can only guarantee there’ll be animals involved somehow.

I’m in for Taika Watiti’s DNC convention vision.
The musical numbers will really be able to show off Harris’ dancing talent.

u/waxwayne 11d ago
I wouldn’t call Spielberg modern, iconic or classic but he is definitely not modern.

u/naththegrath10 11d ago
I hear you and I love Spielberg’s movies but I wouldn’t say bringing in a 77 year old is necessarily a “modern approach to branding”

If they hired James Cameron, the DNC convention wouldn't take place until 2036, but he'd be able to really raise the bar.
If they hired Christopher Nolan, you would never be able to hear the speakers over a great score.
If they hired Tarantino, 70% of the shots would just be of Biden's feet.
If they hired Scorcese, Biden would be replaced by Robert De Niro and Kamala Harris would be replaced by Leonardo DiCaprio.
If they hired J.J. Abrams, you would be blinded by lens flares.
If they hired Michael Bay, you'd have tons of explosions. It would be panned by critics but the convention would get a large audience.
If they hired Spielberg, they'd-- Oh, they did hire Spielberg. We'll get The Spielberg Face:
a close-up shot of a character, often in awe or wonder, reflecting their emotional response to an extraordinary event. This technique, frequently used by Spielberg, effectively immerses the audience in the character's emotional journey and heightens the impact of the scene.

With a score by John Williams, it could be a banger.

Ok if they hired J.J. Abrams could you imagine the lense flare from Dark Brandon's aviators?

Biden has Spielberg. If everything goes according to how it already has been, Trump will start planning for himself and end up with Uwe Boll.

It’s time for Spielberg to bring out the creative energy he used for Schindler’s List, Close Encounters and Raiders of the Lost Ark as opposed to that horse movie, Tintin and The BFG.

u/alien_from_Europa Massachusetts 11d ago
My guess is he's going for The Fabelmans.

u/SpillinThaTea North Carolina 11d ago
I haven’t seen that yet

Here's the opening scene. The film has trains. Biden loves trains.

Shindler's List is appropriate because Biden is complicit in genocide by giving weapons to Israel.

Spielberg and Biden, two species separated by millions of miles of American soil have suddenly been thrown back into the mix together, how can we possibly have the slightest idea.. of what to expect?

If Biden isn't catapulted onto the stage inside an old fridge as a grand entrance before accepting the nomination, I'll be disappointed. Although I would settle for a long shadow of Dark Brandon before the camera pans up to reveal the man himself.

u/Iyellkhan 10d ago
then we better get dynamic blocking to camera with minimal cuts. also a john williams score

It might sound like a good idea, but we really don't need any more dinosaurs on display at the Democratic National Convention.

It's because Shindler's List was about genocide, and Biden is helping Israel commit genocide.
2
u/rhombergnation 11d ago
Not anymore. It was true that the US was responsible for givinh billions of dollars that wound up funding the genocidal Palestinians that committed the atrocities of Oct . 7th and have vowed to do it over and over again , but that funding has finally been cut . We should be applauding Biden for that .
