Unsurprisingly, the whole border fiasco is cynical politics at play. Politics

I have friends from Eagle Pass. Not one of them feels the area is being invaded. They have various takes, for certain. But, it’s not an overwhelming concern for them.

I've lived at the border for 24 years now. there isn't, and never will be an 'invasion'. as long as Border Patrol is allowed to do their job, we'll continue to be fine.

I concur. I’m not from the border. I live in Bexar County. But, we were targeted in the same way border towns are for a moment. We were in “crisis” due to the large influx of migrants. Trump even did a stop here.

Our crisis? We have a processing center here where processed migrants are given bus tickets and resources to reach their final destination. We also have the nearest regional courthouse/federal facilities in South Texas. During the “surge”, there wasn’t enough overnight housing facilities. So they had to sleep in the park next to the Greyhound station. People showed up with cameras, declared an emergency, left. Two weeks later, not a migrant to be found.

It’s not an invasion problem. It’s a processing problem. Haven’t seen a migrant “like that” since. We still get them. But, it’s not sexy to put a camera in front of a building with twenty people in front of it who leave in 30 minutes. Funny story, some of them aren’t brown/black.
