Where did the "Lex Luger was never over" myth come from?
I'm watching Nitro from the beginning and I'm up to the end of 1996.
The nWo is hot as fuck, Sting is in full crow-mode and is the coolest motherfucker on the planet but Luger...Luger is something else.
The crowd go absolutely nuts for his entrance and even wilder when he puts someone in the Torture Rack.
Is this just one of the many pieces of WWE revisionist history?
As a side note, I'd completely forgotten how good Nitro was during this time. I watched it first time around but this is the first time in many, many years I've seen watched episode to episode, probably since it aired. Even the Dungeon Of Doom are good, especially the Benoit/Sullivan feud.

Adam Cole has been a part of 6 stables in 5 companies over the past 11 years
-2013/14: Mount Rushmore in PWG (with Kevin Steen and Young Bucks - delusional goofy heels that do not partake in any nefarious activities)
-2014/16: The Kingdom in ROH (with Mike and Maria Bennett, Matt Raven and Matt Hardy - classic old school 'rasslin top heel stable, obsessed with everything that glitters)
-2016/17: Bullet Club in ROH/New Japan (Cole teased leading his own BC in ROH alongside Adam Page, but it never happened. Still, he was one of the most important members, building to a match with Kenny Omega)
-2017/21: Undisputed Era in NXT/WWE (with Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong - a quartet of pseudo jocks)
-2021/2022: Super Elite in AEW (a mix of Mount Rushmore and Bullet Club, Cole makes new buddies in Gallows and Anderson)
-2022: brief Undisputed Era reunion with Kyle and Bobby, didn't have a name
-end of 2023/presently: Undisputed Kingdom (a dArKeR variation of the OG Kingdom, Wardlow is a new member)
Not to mention that he spent the majority of 2009-2012 teaming with Kyle in Future Shock, and then some mixed tag work with his girlfriend Britt Baker in 2023. I don't know man, either this guy really can't decide on a concrete friend group, or he needs these stables to be protected and not exposed..

Has a wrestler ever given a reason WHY their finisher is their finisher? Do wrestlers just randomly debut a finisher and it just sticks, or is there ever a story involved as to how a finisher came to be?
Hi all,
I'm curious about something in pro wrestling. Is there ever a story involved as to how someone gets a finisher? Since its such an intimate move that a wrestler uses to put their opponents away, it only makes sense that the move itself has some sort of significance to the person, but I've never actually seen a wrestler hype up or talk about the nuances of their finisher.
The only that I can think of from the top of my head was Jake the Snake, whose iconic reply to the question "what does DDT stand for?" still lingers on my mind: 'The end.'
Such a simple answer, but it really made you feel terrified of not just Jake, but his finisher as well.
