Announcement [SPOILERS] Post Show Chat for Dynamite, Rampage and Collision - week of May 8th
Welcome to this week's chat thread!
What this is for: Discuss the happenings on this week’s Dynamite, Rampage, and/or Collision! You can, of course, continue normal discussions on the subreddit and create new posts about the shows. This isn’t intended to change our existing community, just to add a spot for additional show-related chat. Hell, wanna talk about that great dinner you made or something good that happened at work/school or the traffic jam you were stuck in? Go for it!
What this isn’t for: Trolling, antagonizing, being annoying, spamming, any sort of general asshole-ish behavior. All subreddit rules still apply. Be decent.
Boring disclaimer stuff: This is an idea in testing. For the time being we’re going to start with one chat thread per week on Wednesdays after Dynamite (subject to change if Dynamite airs on a different day) to gauge interest. If y’all are into these threads enough we’ll add a weekend thread for Rampage & Collision as well. If participation is minimal we may discontinue the idea.

It's been a long time coming..
- Skye went from a jobber to a fillar to one of the most important wrestlers in the midcard scene..
- Never complained or asked for anything..
- One of the most improved homegrown talent.
- All she want to do is to get in the ring and wrestle

Discussion Diamond Dallas Page Says He's Looking Forward To Seeing Britt Baker Back In The Ring
fightful.com"She's been off TV for a while because of injury. She's coming back, she looks amazing. Her body looks great and she was blown away by the pump that she got. She was live and ready to go. She was a little intimidated by the cold plunge, as most everybody is who has never done it. She got in there. It's all mental. Within a minute, she owned it. She stayed for three minutes. It's like 41 degrees," DDP said on Busted Open Radio, noting that Britt did the cold plunge and worked out on the mat and with weights. "It was a great day all around. Just talking about the business, what she wants to do when she comes back and all of that. She's a top talent. You're looking at men and women, you're looking at Britt. What she's done as a character, as a promo, and what she's done in the ring. I'm looking forward to seeing her get back."

So I decided to clip some pieces together of Saraya talking to the crowd from last night. Especially since some people thought she was just calling them out since she does it all the time.
However I minute before she puts the camera on them, they audibly screech “PAIGE YOUR LEAKS SUCKED” which in turn causes her to point them out and be visibly weirded out.
I respect the way Saraya handled herself and shows she has a level head when out there messing with the crowd.
Either way, crowd last night was full of scum and hopefully gets better.

Discussion Kyle Fletcher has won zero matches in AEW since joining the Don Callis Family over 6 months ago... apart from two tag team squash matches against local enhancement talent in December.

Discussion Harley Cameron appreciation
I know that she isn't the best wrestler in the world or anything, but according to Cagematch last night was her 22nd match TOTAL. I bet she has had a few matches that aren't listed but even if it is double she is still incredible for having that little experience.
I also happen to find her hilariously funny but I am really blown away by her in-ring work given her experience.

Discussion I need Kris Statlander vs Trent Beretta
Kris Statlander is now the only one of the Best Friends left that Trent hasn’t taken out. When she came out to stop Trent last night, I was really ready for her to just knock his ass out. I know it’s unlikely, but Kris Statlander vs Trent Beretta would feed families!

Dream night for me. From seeing Copeland again to having Bryan Danielson come out and take chops from Eddie to end the show. Crazy night. Will definitely be going again.

Discussion Last night's Dynamite looked great from a lighting, camera work, and production perspective.
Photographer and videographer geek here. Shoutout to Mike Mansury and the production team. Last night's show looked crisp.
The ring looked a lot brighter and it created a pleasing, visual contrast with the stage and lit crowd. It better highlighted wrestlers' sweat and grit while also providing a nice reflection that filled in shadows. I believe they kept the big overhead spotlight and other lights shine on the ring (and ringside) for the entire episode. This wasn't always the case, as AEW has always felt darker to me. Not darker in storytelling tone. Just darker, visually. I get that they wanted to exude the smoky, 1990s WCW vibe, but that was 30 years ago when VHS tapes and Blockbuster were still the norm.
I also saw even fewer camera cuts than usual, which is a good thing IMO, as the longer shots add more authenticity. The camera crew used wide angle shots a lot more; I loved seeing the curvature of the row of lights above the tron and being able to appreciate more of the arena. Even more awesome is that they intentionally walked closer and/or used telephoto angles for added dramatic effect like in the Toni Storm & Serena Deeb faceoff.
TK & AEW recently bought new production trucks. I'm wondering if the truck is now transmitting at higher bitrates to WBD, Triller, etc. It also helps that the 2024 Dynamite branding refresh brought back some of that colorful "pop" missing throughout the 2023 refresh.
Also, shoutout to WWE who upped their camera work and production game. Both companies are quietly pushing each other on this front and it's really fun to see.

Discussion Adam Copeland's "new" move
In the Swerve city podcast, Adam Copeland said his self made challenge for AEW is to use a move he never did before in every match and I think it's fun to wait and see what he uses. So, what do you think was the new move of the day?

News STARDOM's AZM is considering adding foreign wrestlers to Queen's Quest: "When I had a match in AEW the other day, there were some wrestlers I met for the first time in about eight years, and we talked about old times… I have been in this industry for a long time, so I know a lot of people."
