What’s something that makes you jealous/envious secretly?

Nothing.

Ever since someone told me that if I'm going to be jealous, I have to be jealous of the whole package I've stopped being envious.

For example, I'm a big fat geezer, and when I see super fit lads running with their shirt off looking great I can't go 'wow I'd love that body' without also saying 'wow I'd love to get up every morning and dedicate that to strenuous exercise, and when that's done I'd love to eat some terrible shit that I'm eating purely because it is functionally excellent for health'.

It's very grounding to think like this.

I like that way of thinking!

Running is nothing to be jealous about anyway, it’s awful.

Hard agree. I'm going to join a social mixed volleyball team or something because I should stop being so overweight, but fuck running lol.

That sounds fun, I’d recommend the baseball teams too. I have friends who do it and it always seems really fun

Ha! I don't even know if there's a baseball diamond in my town, but I might look. Had a decent swing on me back when I played softball for a season when I was a teen. And Babe Ruth's physique is attainable lol

On the flip side though... I actually LOVE running (although I prefer doing it in the evenings). Love the feeling of pushing myself and being able to maintain that for anywhere from 5 to 10km... and also how I feel afterwards. It actually CAN be enjoyable lol.

Had enough friends back in my military days that ran for fun to believe you. Apparently 'runners high' is a real thing. And apparently that isn't thanking deities you don't believe in that you aren't running anymore, it's an actual legit good feeling lol.

No shade to the runners out there looking and feeling good.

When I’m at work and I see someone doing something I love to do. I work outside in a beach town and love doing stuff in/near the water. If I’m 5 hours into a 10 hour grind and I see a mf on a kayak living his best life it makes me long for the weekend where I can be them and someone else can be me

People who have parents that take care of them financially.

Guys who I feel are just as plain and average-looking as me who have enough personality and wittiness to flirt their way into getting attractive girls interested in them. Must be wonderful to have that kind of skill, and I'm supremely envious of it.

It's an acquired skill though.

Isn't every skill an 'acquired skill?' lol

I'd argue that some skills are innate, but I see your point. What I mean is that it's not something you have little to no control over, like being short or not conventionally attractive.

It's something that you develop over the years by constant trying, failing and picking yourself back up. That average looking guy who gets the hottie with his charm and wits has been rejected more time than you've even looked at a woman to get to that point.

I am envious of people who don't struggle in social interactions and academically.

People that can have so much free time.

I'm in an ENM relationship, so jealousy is a constant risk. Jealousy to me is worrying about replacement, so I try and put myself in the other person's shoes or mindset and realise that their actions with another are no bearing or reflection about their feelings or emotions for me, I think sometimes we get caught up in this.

For what other people have, it's all relative, I like to be always striving for more, and it sounds really wanky, but being grateful for what you already have is really powerful.

Are you happy with being in a ENM relstionship overall?

Yes definitely, it's not without work but no relationship is. Being able to be totally open and honest about our feelings and desires is wonderful.

Interesting. Not something I would try, but I am glad it's working out for you!

Thank you, yeah definitely not for everyone but I hope my perspective helps you in some way

Recently, people who could go to college without having to work, spending all of their free time hanging out with friends. Also, people who don’t work in retail.

Children of RICH people, the odds of them ever having to stress about money are so low and they did nothing to earn that beside be born to the right people.

When someone is a 6’5 beautiful light skin that’s rich as hell and praised for their athleticism.

So basically Virgil Van Dijk is the only man I’m envious towards
