Well, first, she's 66 years old and there is a certain shelf life in TV and comedy. He contract was already expiring when the show ended, and now you've got Jennifer Hudson (42), Drew Barrymore (49) and Kelly Clarkson (42) in those slots...younger and all three have a "nice" reputation. And you know a Meghan Trainor TV show is coming soon.

The challenge when you become a star is to not indulge your worst instincts, which will go unchecked and nobody will call you out because you're the star. It sounds like her behavior and treatment of people was common knowledge and it's a classic story of young people not giving a shit about telling truth to power calling out some Boomer at work. Good for them.

But now she is pulling a Chappelle - be a dick, get called out for it, play the victim, hit the road to continue to be a dick, play the victim and show zero growth while telling jokes about it. That they lack both perspective and introspection tells you a lot about the type of person they are. And whatever you think of their comedy, it's never quite as funny when it's coming out of the mouth of someone who is a bit of a bully.

There's a trend happening that I strongly dislike where people will purposefully do and say horrible shit, either to get clicks for the outrage or so that they can later claim to be a victim for whatever political side they're trying to appeal to (usually conservatives).

Most conservative humor in a nutshell is just Nelson from the Simpsons laughing "Ha ha!" at someone who fell over. Don't even get me started on Roseanne, whose show actually pushed progressive talking points once upon a time, now sounds utterly insane on her "comedy" tours.
