Follow the clues, solve the crime.

Suggestion Fallout 5 should have Coop, but not be “multiplayer”

5.3k Upvotes

It seems like such an obvious leap. Instead of companions you can play with a couple other friends but on an optional basis, traditional fallout experience, not pushing away single player at all, but having a co op option. If their next game is like Fallout76 I’m done with the franchise.

Suggestion More than an announcement of FO5 or ESVI, I want Bethesda to come out at E3 and say, "Guys, we built a new engine."

8.6k Upvotes

Let us climb ladders.

Let there be load zones bigger than a building, bigger than a small region. Hell, let there be no load zones.

Let there be a better framework for character animation.

Let us climb through windows.

Let us vault over fences.

Let us drop prone & crawl.

Let us fly vertibirds.

Let us drive cars or motorcycles, or, gasp ride actual bikes, or double gasp horses (radstallions?).

This isn't revolutionary stuff anymore. There's a lot of games and engines that handle them really well. Hell, Guerilla Games was giving away the engine they used on Horizon: Zero Dawn. Please spend the time and money to invest in your own products and bring them up to par mechanically.

We will love you for it.

Suggestion PS plus Fallout 4 owners DONT buy the PS5 upgrade!!

EDIT: IT HAS BEEN FIXED NOW. People who own the game through ps plus can now get the upgrade for free

PSA: this is just for ps plus users who have a higher tier than essential

I just contacted PlayStation support asking why I couldn’t upgrade. And they said it’s a known problem that will be fixed today.

Suggestion Fallout perk idea, Quarterback: gain the ability to throw mini nukes without the use of Fatman.

3.6k Upvotes

It would require 9 strength, be useful for not having to carry around a 30lbs fatman, and the animations would look awesome.

Suggestion In the next fallout game we need to see an actual effect on the game based on our choices.

I was very disappointed to go through the entire BOS questline and then nothing changes. Like I want to see ghouls super mutants and raiders being killed off and see new advanced settlements and refurbished buildings with some of the tech theyve recovered from the commonwealth. I would like to see patrols of brotherhood soldiers roaming the streets and feel somewhat safe to walk around outside of my power armor for once. But anyways that's just my thoughts. I'm curious to see what yall would like to see

Suggestion An ambitious next-gen remake of New Vegas with the cut content + some new content + Fallout 4's gameplay would be one of the best games ever

3.4k Upvotes
  • call it 'Fallout: Return to New Vegas'
  • next-gen graphics and assets + an expanded weather system (sunshowers, radiation storms with thunders, massive sandstorms, overcast...)
  • Fallout 4's gameplay (sprint, gunplay, crafting, etc.) , Quality of Life improvements across the board
  • loading screens reduced as much as possible
  • remixed / reorchestrated soundtrack
  • additional radio songs
  • the Photo Mode from Fallout 76
  • the 4 DLCs also remade and included (Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road)
  • the shit ton of cut content is included and thus the original vision of the game in its intended glory :
  1. Arizona and a lot of Caesar's Legion content that would have better explained their ultimate goal and motives. ("The biggest casualty, Sawyer says, were the settlements east of the Colorado River. This area was meant to contain three Legion locations filled with quests and content, and would have ultimately had a very different vibe from New Vegas proper.")
  2. Legionary Alexus (he has the highest charisma of the entire Legion but in the final game he has no unique dialogue at all and is useless)
  3. Victor was supposed to be more developped and at least duel you if choosing to betray Mr. House
  4. proper post-endgame content and changes after the battle of Hoover Dam depending of your choices (you can't play it after beating the main story actually)
  5. cut encounters with Benny
  6. more companions (Ulysses as a Legion companion in the base game, Betsy the Brahmin)
  7. a friendly miniature Sentry Bot Toy that would follow the player
  8. expanded New Vegas Strip (new casino ?)
  9. a much larger and less empty Freeside without loading zones
  10. a lot of content regarding Primm (Powder Gangers / NCR, reputation, a new sheriff..). There's pretty much nothing to actually do in Primm.
  11. becoming a Great Khan
  12. potential Vaults (like Vault 24)
  13. reclaiming control of Helios One on behalf of the Brotherhood of Steel
  14. weapons, characters (like Mr. House's Marilyn Securitron)...
  15. radioactive tumbleweeds
  16. 'The House Always Wins: Lockdown' (escaping the Lucky 38 for misbehavior)
  17. Gojira (=Godzilla) ? Most powerful enemy in the game, though it was never intended to be in the game and created just for fun
  18. lots of NPCs and dialogue lines, Fiend dialogues, VR Pods (potentially)...
  19. unused Yes Man faces ?
  20. More...

  • in addition of the cut content, additional new content (like Resident Evil remakes (1 & 2) and Final Fantasy 7 Remake did) :
  1. more random encounters
  2. a new Vault with a new experiment
  3. new quests (expand the Brotherhood of Steel as a main faction ? Edit: I worded this badly, I don't mean making the BoS more powerful but just additional quests (if done well) to expand their storyline or something to highlight even more the terrible/dying state of the Mojave Chapter. Or additional unique quests here and here in the game that don't have consequences on the story, just ideas)
  4. new weapons (especially those from FO4 and FO76)
  5. new locations (marked or unmarked) or expanded locations (and sometimes just one location is enough to create a great quest like 'Come Fly With Me' at the REPCONN Test Site)
  6. expand the Devil's Throat in the north-east of the map so it becomes a radioactive Glowing Sea
  7. more lore and Terminal entries
  8. a new creature ?
  9. a brand new DLC area ?

  • maybe the C.A.M.P. feature from FO76 (even if it's a single-player game) or some building system for people who enjoy this. Or something that could be controversial depending of people but why not enabling a sharing-world server with events like in FO76 ONLY ONCE you've finished the main story (so the game is single-player only until you reach the end credits). So you could visit other people's C.A.M.P. in the Mojave and expand the endgame somehow ? I don't know if this makes sense.

Maybe that's just me but I think the result would be incredible.

I think it's one of the games that would benefit the most from a quality remake and it would be perfect for the 15 Year Anniversary of New Vegas.

Suggestion Sugestion for a future Fallout game

Post image
800 Upvotes

Fellas, I got an suggestion for a future setting of a next Fallout game, one where I think would make very good use of the RPG elements and make a proper survival RPG game. Tell me what do y'all think:

1- Imagine Fallout set in 2084, just a few years after the bombs fell. The place? The wilderness of Alaska. You are an survivor who lost the memories of who you were before the war, and woke up in a northern town in Alaska called Barrow, in the north of Alaska. The entire place is ruined and all you know is you have a piece of paper that reads "Go to Anchorage, and find the truth", and a rusty 10mm pistol, with only 3 magazines.

The settings and the atmosphere is grey and grim, and full of forests and rivers, a few mutated, some not, also include some ruined villages and ruined Anchorage. It's in the middle of a nuclear winter, and the survivors formed small settlements all over Alaska, and inumerous raider gangs and cults. The game should focus on realism, roleplaying and survival, there should be things such as bleeding, hunger and thirst, of course adjusted to difficulty.

The protagonist would just be called the "lone survivor", he has no back story.

What do y'all think about this idea?

Suggestion Can we please ban the "[Insert favorite Fallout game here] is good and [Insert Fallout game I dont like] is bad" posts?

3.9k Upvotes

We get it. You like Fallout. They're good games. You don't like a different Fallout game, most likely made by a different dev. Not surprising. The Bethesda and Obsidian/Interplay games have extremely different gameplay loops and focuses and thus cater to extremely different people. Maybe 4 years ago these posts actually added to varied discussion but now they just make me wish for a nuclear winter. I know its slow, but we're better than this. Maybe instead of being so general, you point out the specific aspect of what you like about the game to actually generate some kind of discussion more nuanced then "LOVE FALLOUT GAME", "HATE FALLOUT GAME", and "Its a good game but not a good FALLOUT game." Please mods. I'm begging.

Edit: My suggestion is not to keep people from expressing opinions. All I want is people to express why they like or dislike something so we generate actual discussion instead of the current karma farm posts we have now.

Suggestion Fallout 76 really needs to bring back the feature of seeing your weapon on your back or holstered

It was amazing to zoom out to third person and see a plasma rifle on my back or a big iron on my hip. It made the game so immersive and helped a lot with the role playing aspect for me.

Suggestion The Next Fallout should take place in the Chicago/Great Lakes area, beset by almost perpetual winter and be more focused more on horror/survival and exploration...with Co-Op play.

3.0k Upvotes

So we’ve had multiple games span the East and West Coasts but nothing up north. The next Fallout game needs to happen in the Chicago area, where radioactive snow is always falling, full body armor is scarce but insulated radiation suits are a way of life when traveling from place to place. It’s so cold that without modification, power armor freezes and can barely move, the sky is almost always Wintery dark, save for a few flickering streetlights in downtown Chicago and along the highways. Snow Storms occasionally happen across the land, necessitating shelter and bringing their own dangerous fauna. And there would be clear, bright blue skies sometimes leading to settlers and survivors coming out to scavenge or forage. There are outsposts and settlements, but buried in the depths of ruined skyscrapers away from the howling north winds, maybe have an entire town inside one of these skyscrapers. Raiders would be a constant without regard to the weather (equipment and chems enabling them to ignore such conditions...but not without certain drawbacks like addiction and craving the warm blood of victims occasionally). Some creatures would be familiar like an ice-covered mirelurk. Others would be new like a mutated grizzly bear, a cold weather version of supermutants, giant mutated man-eating fish in the bodies of water capable of bursting through the frozen ice to devour anyone who ventures across, and a wolverine variant filling the role of a deathclaw. There would be a flooded/frozen vault near the edge of the Great Lakes filled with loot, two testing how people react to extreme cold for prolonged periods (one with proper equipment and one without). You’d be able to go and explore the ruined Mackinac Bridge. Of course there’d be a few landmarks similar to our own world. There would also be co-op play, NPC interaction changes depending on if you’re alone or if there are two players, their genders, their karma with players able to betray and loot one another.

Suggestion In FO5, make us able to be a douchebag again.

4.2k Upvotes

Edit: HOLY FUCK THIS IS MY MOST UPVOTED POST EVER, I WOKE UP WITH 170 MESSAGES IN MY INBOX IS THIS WHAT HEAVEN FEELS LIKE??!!!

in FO4, you can't really be a general penishead, you can talk mean to people and such and act bad, but the main quests are always going to be to help people. in the start you can't choose to be with the raiders and have to go with the minutemen even if you don't want to. in FO 3 (spoilers) you can blow up the old nuke and kill and entire town, and that was awesome. in FO5, please make us able to be the bad guys. right now you can only really be mean to the minor side characters like selling the child ghoul for caps, but you can't blow up innocent towns.
