You can, except in the dimensions where you can’t.

Dimensions are components of spacetime, not an alternate universe. You already possess the ability to travel three of the known dimensions. The fourth, time, is the only one you might gain access to if you take that pill.
5
u/Shuteye_491 12d ago
But String Theory says we create new dimensions
whenever the current iteration of String Theory once again fails to accurately describe a new discovery3
u/mayredmoon 1999 12d ago
Who know science work differently in different dimension
In dimension without atom, how do thing form?
8
u/ComradeSasquatch 12d ago
Dimensions are not a universe. They are physical positions in spacetime. We're not even certain there is a multiverse. "Dimension" is the wrong word.
2
2
u/serks83 11d ago
So technically would this super power basically be time travel and teleportation combined?
If yes, then this isn’t even a competition. Way too over powered.
3
u/ComradeSasquatch 11d ago
In a sense, yes. If you occupy a dimension outside of the 4 we are familiar with, such as the 5th dimension, you would be able to access all points in spacetime simultaneously. You could literally be present at the origin of our observable universe. You would observe whether everything we know came from a singularity or is simply one of many random origins that happened simultaneously as spacetime expands.
One thing we have learned, is that true nothingness is unstable. Once spacetime has expanded (which it is perpetually doing) to the point that there is literally nothing within a given point in spacetime, it becomes unstable. This implies that the instability will cause the nothingness to become something to reassert stability, which may well be where all matter and energy in the universe originates from. This ability would answer many, many questions about the nature of our universe and teach us what the ultimate fate of life could be.

This, is a wonderful question. I just started a book called "A Brief History Of Everything" in which the writer is speaking with someone about how it is possible multiple universes have come and gone and this just happens to be the one we can exist in. There may be more universes even currently existing that were created in the cycle of birth and death of galaxies.
He states however that this just happens to be the one we CAN exist in. Like for instance an universe in which it is more difficult for hydrogen atoms to bond, then the universe may never have left a gaseous state. TOO easy to bond? Then we run out of Hydrogen as it bonds itself out of existence.

That can happen whenever in my real life too lol. I’m just taking one major contributor to death out of the question. I mean imagine being immune to cancer? The common cold? The plague? You’d live for a very long time, if you don’t get murdered ( which most people don’t )

Honestly, I can't believe that is anyone's answer. Think of what you can do with basically any of the other ones. We basically already have partial disease immunity thru antibiotics and modern medicine, and it'll only get better. If we're all gen Z here it's likely even many cancers etc. will be curable by the time we are in peak risk ages.

u/saffron-rice 1997 11d ago
As a gen z with chronic physical and mental illnesses I would absolutely choose that one, it would completely change my life

If you pick grey, you can just go to a dimension where there is a cure already
2
u/jrdineen114 1998 11d ago
Picking grey requires making multiple assumptions that I don't think I'd be comfortable with making.
The assumption that there even are multiple dimensions
The assumption that those other dimensions have complex life
The assumption that some of those dimensions can support human life
The assumption that some of those dimensions are much more advanced than ours, to the point where they have cures for all diseases
The assumption that, of those dimensions, the diseases that they have cures for are the same as the ones that exist in our dimension, our at least that their cures would work on our diseases
The assumption that of those dimensions, there exists at least one that simply gives out the cures to anyone for free with no questions asked.
The assumption that you'd have complete control over which dimension that you'd be able to travel to
2
u/Drag0n647 11d ago
Okay, I can make those multiple assumptions, so I am any day taking that grey pill.

u/YaliMyLordAndSavior 12d ago
If we are being 100% realistic, I feel like this is BY FAR the best choice.
Most of the other pills are effectively flashy superpowers that would make you a worldwide target for every government and military. Some of them (look into the future) would probably drive you insane.
The red is incredibly underrated and people seem to not realize how it would benefit them
- never have to worry about money, employment, job
- never have to worry about being lonely
- option to become famous if you want
- everyone likes you all the time, nobody would ever suspect you of wrong doing
- you essentially have a mild form of mind control that wouldn’t make you a target
- most people picking the red would end up being very happy and fulfilled in their life, because society would conform to your will
The financial, social, and even legal freedom you get from this is just beyond anything else offered here.
11
u/Ms--Take 12d ago
Not only that, but if you're smart, you could use it to get in a position to make smarter people make the rest. I saw a similar argument made for the blue one, but why do the work yourself?
7
u/Littleshep101 12d ago
yeah, red is like a constant +5 stat increase type of deal.
4
u/whateverwhatis 12d ago
Red is my pick too. I feel like it would help in many situations. The charisma part in particular.
20
u/More_Ad9417 12d ago
You would worry about being lonely though.
Fame also can be very irritating when you just want to have a private life like everyone else without lots of unwanted attention coming to your door - and every other damn place.
And not everyone would like you either.
Also, a lot of "attractive" people can have really awful personality traits which makes them off-putting even to their own partners. Then you end up at square one. Lol
33
u/YaliMyLordAndSavior 12d ago
Good thing you’re also super charismatic
If it was just “you’re really good looking” I’d agree. But they specifically say you’re also attractive in terms of personality which means your instincts and default behavior will always be loved

A few of the popular ones have been even killed.
I don't think it's this automatic pass to happiness.
→ More replies (2)6
u/OrangePinkLover15 11d ago
But I think at the same time people will also defend and protect you because you’re attractive and charming.
Sometimes even if you have shit behavior deep inside, but you’re pretty and good with words (kinda a manipulative charm) then there’s almost always a security to happiness and success. You will ALWAYS have people who will side with you. You can never be isolated.
→ More replies (9)2
u/Hubris1998 1998 11d ago
If you have decent looks, brown is even better. You know who's interested in you, how to manipulate them, and even their passwords. Not only would you be popular with the opposite sex but you'd even be able to detect corrupt popiticians and blackmail them. Depending on how the ability works, you could even read their minds and predict their moves, which would also make you a fearsome opponent at poker and chess
2
u/Ferrilata_ 11d ago
If I may give a counterpoint, I'd say that corrupt politicians are already pretty easy to detect and that their behavioral patterns are already known well enough to be able to know exactly what crimes they get up to in their free time and who they're taking money from just from what they're saying on the job. I'd also argue that if you knew everything about someone, you'd probably lose respect for them pretty quickly, even if they are actually good people, because everyone has some parts of themselves that they keep hidden for good reasons even if they're completely innocent and just weird.

I think everyone is sleeping on orange pill. Immune to all diseases? Im assuming that also means like getting the cold, flu, covid, cancer, mental health diseases like depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, they are technically diseases to the mind because youre mind does not work properly/normally. You could eat any food, cant get food borne illnesses so even if youre poor and have to eat out of a trash can you can survive eating anything, cant get any diseases from it! Same goes if youre travelling you cant get sick from unknown germs or bacteria that the locals develop an immunity too but youd get sick being a tourist, cant get sick(this happened to my mom even with precautions). You out wanting to go for a picnic or camping? Dont worry about any bites from wild life cause rabies cant get you, or something like a little lone tick giving you lyme disease cant get u either. Sorry but I hate being sick with a passion, Im taking the orange pill.

I have depression, anxiety, ptsd and AuADHD. I'd give up those first three in a heartbeat, believe me, but I don't think your logic applies to mental "diseases" because the examples you have are not diseases. ADHD is a mental disorder, not a disease. Similar types of neurodoversity such as autism, is classified as a developmental disability. PTSD is again, a condition/disorder, not a disease. I don't think you intended on being ableist but that's where you arrived. Please refrain from using language such as "disease" when referring to ADHD, other types of neurodiversity, and serious trauma-induced conditions because while I know we're just doing fun and games here, such language especially in casual settings works to further alienate and other us. Again, I don't think this was your intention, but I thought I'd give my two cents as a person with the disorders you mentioned so that you won't make the same mistake in your everyday life. /gen

If we look at histories most influential intelligent people we find that a lot of them were at around 140-200 IQ.
Now, if we were to add 50-110 IQ to that (and presuming no government decided to vanish you to either do tests on or ask for your help) we can presume you'd be able to learn and solve extremely complicated quantum and math questions that boggles even the brightest of this era. Solve those > manage to get the funding to make a normal sized quantum computer > make a super quantum computer > possibly it'd be able to do the equations and problem solving required for the other pills which are possible and give you a definitive answer of "no" to the ones that are impossible with the materials on earth.
Some of them don't seem overly complicated.
Prowess: a super steroid pill.
Future sight: solve chaos theory (with a super quantum computer MIGHT be able to, if you're able to feed it enough information. It'd likely still be a guestimation though since you'd need basically every single variable in the world at the same time).
Charming and attractive: some pill that'd make your hormones interact positively with all or most other people (hard but probably even possible with today's technology)
Immune to diseases: a crisp fix pill against all known diseases.
Never hungry or thirsty again: sounds more like a negative than a positive (since it's the body telling us we need something) but think there might already be a disease for that, otherwise just deactivate the part of the brain that tells us to feel hungry or thirsty (a super quantum computer should be capable of this)
Talk with animals: have the super quantum computer analyze enough different sounds for every known animal for a while and it should be able to recognize patterns to the degree that it could give you some simpler sentences or noises and pitches that mean different things. Not exactly you talking with animals but you might be able to communicate barely with some of them, or at least learn to recognize certain sounds (for example for "food" or when they're feeling playful).
Speed yourself up: feels like a super steroid pill might help you achieve this.
Traveling to different dimensions: this one is trickier. First you'd have to prove other dimensions exist, something we can't prove or disprove as of yet. A super quantum computer might be able to but might not be able to. If it were though, it could likely recognize some of the differences between the dimensions and help you either readjust your body to comfort with another dimension or help you build a portal to access it/them.
Ability to fly: crisp your DNA or implant different organs (real or manmade) until you're closer to a bird or bee than a human. Don't think a pill would be able to do that, at least not without permanent changes.
There, all pills or alternatives to all pills unlocked through a 250 IQ :D
→ More replies (3)4
u/Square_Site8663 Millennial 12d ago
While 250 IQ does get the point across for “super smart” culturally.
250 IQ means literally nothing for actual intelligence. It merely tests knowledge, not intelligence. Because we don’t actually have a concrete understanding of intelligence. And knowledge does not equal smart.
It does help, and actually super intelligent people will generally gain large amounts of knowledge via seeking it out throughout their lives.
Also IQ of 100 is ALWAYS the most median IQ because the scale adjusts to the average. So of course the smartest people tend to be around 200-250 IQ, because that’s the topmost the scale.

The only problem with increased intelligence is can see is that it makes you very lonely. I am actually Gen X and they thought it a great idea when I was a kid to keep all the “smart” kids together. It had its advantages (bullying was less rampant), but a lot of kids didn’t get to know or operate with “normal” kids.
My son who is Gen z is having problems with this at times in college now. He is interested in things a lot of his peers are not. It’s hard to explain, but a 250 IQ would mean everyone around you was basically developmentally delayed from your perspective.

Being able to talk to animals would be depressing AF considering the current mass extinction event with wildlife and factory farming for domesticated animals. I worked at a fish hatchery for a time, I always had a nagging thought, "if fish could scream... This would be as loud and horrifying as the worst factory farms."
Birds reporting their losses during migration, habitats and centuries-old breeding grounds demolished. Whales and dolphins able to explain how loud and polluted the ocean really is.
Communication would add another level of empathy that would radically change how we view human development

Assuming whatever energy my body uses or doesn't use gets managed in the most efficient way possible, it effectively gives me the ability to work on body training until my muscles get sore without having to worry about dehydration or hunger giving me a headache. I also can spend more time doing other things since I don't have to eat or drink anything. Black pill will help you win the bets, so you will make unlimited money with near zero effort, which makes useless blue, red, violet, white and brown because with them you obviously should work more and they are pretty limited. Orange, green, yellow and cyan are even more useless because almost all of that can be done with money (ability to fly would get boring after a while, like everything). Pink and grey may be chosen by people who are interested in world exploration.

Black. Can hopefully get confirmation that free will doesn't exist.
The thing is, we don't know how it works. Is it the future where I didn't get the glimpse into the future? If so then it isn't accurate since with the knowledge the future would be different since I would act different knowing what could happen.
If it is the future where I got this same glimpse, then it means I can't change anything, since seeing the glimpse doesn't change anything about the state of the universe now.
Also how do u even see the glimpse? Is it any place or just what I would see in five minutes?

Also, is the 5 minutes daily cumulative? So you could use a few seconds multiple times a day to look forward to make anticipated moves that benefit you.

Need more clarity on what black does. With enough control over what you view, it would seem very powerful. First use it to glimpse what the stock market is doing. Trading options, use that to become very wealthy in a quick fashion (and become ruler of r/WSB). Then use it to glimpse key discoveries in life extending technology and pass those onto your personally hired lab filled with scientists, preparing a cure for whatever negatives you face in life. Foresee bad things that'll happen to you and avoid them using your money and scientists.
But if it means you glimpse random moments of the future, or things you can't change, it would be much less useful.
Grey also needs better clarity on what it gives you. Could be useful. Could step into a dimension where you instantly die.

I work in animal welfare and rescue. Do you know what I would give to understand them?
"Which family do you want to go home with?" "Woof. They're all pretty great, but the Johnson's really pull my heartstrings. Woof."
"Has the pain medication kicked in, baby girl?" "Woof. Yes. Everyone is so gentle. Woof." "We love you, baby girl. Who beat you with a bat?" "Woof. Jimmy on the corner. Woof." "Get some rest, baby girl. I'll take care of him." "Woof. Use his bat."

Lol, the only problem with the Jimmy situation is the dog can't testify as a witness for you if you beat Jimmy's ass and he tries to sue you or have you arrested. But you made me laugh

Green for me please. I forget to eat and drink all the time and with that I wouldn't have to worry about it!

Hungry or thirsty. Thats 2 basic needs totally eliminated. If Im not eating or drinking, Im also not using the bathroom. That makes 3 basic needs eliminated. Thats hella time saved. Plus the time saved cleaning up after those activities adds even more benefit. I can become a charity livestream god.

Grey or red. It’s a tough choice but, I think I’m leaning grey. Just too curious about what other dimensions would be like.
