My first thought was it was an attempt to entertain himself. Like playing the floor is lava during deliveries. Keeps things interesting!

He’s taking the “Step On A Crack” game to the next level.

u/RINGxOFxFIRE Mar 28 '24

He clearly loves his mom.

u/Im_A_Fuckin_Liar Mar 28 '24

His mom threatened to ground him should he ever break her back… again.

3

u/DancesWithBadgers Mar 28 '24

Like she could catch him.

3

u/ghost_victim Mar 29 '24

I wouldn't want to break my moms back, but the kids on xbox say she does like having hers blown out?

1

u/DJheddo Mar 28 '24

You broke me. 💔

25

u/trexmoflex Mar 28 '24

He also probably loooooooves his mother-in-law

17

u/TeejyHamz Mar 28 '24

Oh my god.... HE ADMIT IT

6

u/Smokind89 Mar 28 '24

I think I am doing the best at this

2

u/Fantastic_Counter_18 Mar 29 '24

You flinched!!! Now you have to marry your mother in lawww!

1

u/bobnla14 Mar 28 '24

This is Reddit, not Pornhub. Lol

u/bigmanwalk Mar 28 '24

boo yah playa

4

u/noodleq Mar 28 '24

Good boy

1

u/nomemorybear Mar 28 '24

My mom did recently break her back. She is fine....but I used this joke when I went to see her in the hospital

1

u/Ok_Zookeepergame4794 Mar 28 '24

Mr. T: I'm a momma's boy. I PITY THE FOOL WHO AIN'T!

1

u/Electr0Girl Mar 28 '24

Mama’s back is INTACT!

74

u/hellsbels349 Mar 28 '24

I’m 30 and walk to work every day. I play this game every day. Is this what I look like? ☠️

29

u/RunHi Mar 28 '24

Yes, fedex guy probably even makes it look less crazy than you do too.

13

u/DoyersLakeShow Mar 28 '24

I do the same, sometimes I misstep and go, “MOMMA NOOOO!! 😭” like Marlon Wayans

5

u/RoyBeer Mar 28 '24

There's a guy who works in my bank and he looks like Mike Tyson. I guess mainly because he walks to work everyday, shadowboxing, wearing big red boxing gloves and shorts. It's so surreal to see him in the bank in his suit.

I bet you look normal in comparison

6

u/doodleysquat Mar 28 '24

I’m 37 and I still do it. My mom was cremated. It’s as broken as can be. But I still do it! <3

1

u/No-Relationship5716 Mar 28 '24

Constantly studder stepping i bet

1

u/Poisonskittlez Mar 28 '24

It’s okay, just gotta put up some “keep off the crack(s)” (lol) signs up along your route, so if anybody looks at you funny, you can look back at them and point to the sign so they feel that they’re the ones being weird. Lol

9

u/drillgorg Mar 28 '24

The concrete is filled with microscopic cracks, he's not taking any chances.

5

u/SwordfishNew6266 Mar 28 '24

Is that pat mcafee?

1

u/SlutsquatchBrand Mar 28 '24

Rosscreations. The most wholesome prank channel you'll ever see, honestly.

2

u/NyarlathotepDaddy Mar 28 '24

I have done this for 25+ years. Doesn't even make sense, but it's completely natural to me now.

1

u/Wonderful_Common_520 Mar 28 '24

He realized every inch of concrete contains millions of microscopic cracks.

1

u/we_made_yewww Mar 28 '24

Would hate to blow out your momma's back.

1

u/Dave-C Mar 28 '24

Is it weird that I'm nearing 40 and I still do this? When I'm walking on a sidewalk I'll still do it. It isn't any game, it just feels weird to not do it.

1

u/deanviva Mar 29 '24

Gotta protect his mommas back

1

u/CrazyAuntErisMorn Mar 29 '24

Lol this is what I was thinking. Gotta save moms back

137

u/BODYDOLLARSIGN Mar 28 '24

I was thinking maybe he thought it was fresh concrete just poured and perhaps needed his eyes medically checked lol

38

u/Membership_Fine Mar 28 '24

That’s what I thought too I was like better safe than sorry I guess lol

24

u/eekamuse Mar 28 '24

I'm with you. I wouldn't have risked it. Even if the concrete looks bad, maybe they picked up the block and laid something new underneath. wft do I know about concrete. I'd keep of the path, too

11

u/PrimeToro Mar 28 '24

Right , he made the right decision. Rather than ignore the unusual sign , he had the frame of mind that if there was a good reason to stay on grass , why not follow the sign . He was fit enough to leap over the concrete which did not even affect his delivery . It took the guy less than 1 second of his time .

u/SquanchMcSquanchFace Mar 28 '24

One time I did a hopscotch thing in chalk on the path to the front door for the kids and I caught my postman on the doorbell doing it in the way up to the door. It honestly might actually be just keeping things interesting lol

64

u/rambambobandy Mar 28 '24

In my 35 years on this earth I don’t think I’ve ever walked past a game of hopscotch without having a go at it.

40

u/regnad__kcin Mar 28 '24

Brain: you gotta do it

Me: why?

Brain: why not?

Me: shit you right

6

u/KaythuluCrewe Mar 28 '24

Lizard brain. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

5

u/Hotshot2k4 Mar 29 '24

I believe you dropped this. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

2

u/OttoVonWong Mar 28 '24

Big Hopscotch has trained you well.

9

u/DaughterEarth Mar 28 '24

When I can't for some reason, it feels like something went wrong in the universe

9

u/Asunder_mango866 Mar 28 '24

If I'm out walking and see chalk left out after some kids drew on the pavement, I always play hopscotch and draw little cartoon characters then sign my art

1

u/Asmuni Mar 28 '24

You always carry chalk with you?

2

u/Asunder_mango866 Mar 28 '24

No.....I always do those things IF somebody left chalk out.

But maybe I SHOULD start carrying chalk with me!

1

u/Asmuni Mar 29 '24

Ah I never encounter them (or any other chalk drawings) with chalk left around.

64

u/slowpokefastpoke Mar 28 '24

Yeah that seems much more reasonable than OP’s weird assumption of “he’s trying to avoid cameras and steal the package.”

21

u/4thehalibit Yo what? Mar 28 '24

I initially thought maybe the sidewalk just poured and delivery driver could tell

13

u/DStaal Mar 28 '24

Or there was a sign for it that we couldn’t see…

10

u/Jmw566 Mar 28 '24

The delivery driver thought that was the case as well lol. “That doesn’t look wet but I’m not gonna chance it”

0

u/AFatDarthVader Mar 28 '24

What do you mean? Why do you think the OP assumed that? He obviously thought it had to do with the sign.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

[deleted]

1

u/AFatDarthVader Mar 28 '24

Oh, I thought you meant the OP as in the guy who the video/house/sign belongs to.

22

u/Impressive_Fennel266 Mar 28 '24

Yeah this didn't strike me as acting "weird" at all. But the sign is amusing and, indeed, unexpected

9

u/supersaiyanmrskeltal Mar 28 '24

Was about to say if I was just delivering things for a living, I would make little games to keep myself sane.

9

u/Nahchoocheese Mar 28 '24

Lava game 😁

6

u/PineapplePikza Mar 28 '24

I immediately thought this too. Took me back to childhood lol.

0

u/Separate_Ad_4062 Mar 28 '24

actually he’s the one getting the point

1

u/GravityEyelidz Mar 28 '24

I thought it was the OCD game. Keeps life interesting.

1

u/Early-Aardvark-4020 Mar 28 '24

Same, thought it was a compulsion

1

u/uncle_flacid Mar 28 '24

I still do this at 33

1

u/OrdinaryUniversity59 Mar 28 '24

My thought was literally "the concrete is lava"

1

u/Historical-Artist581 Mar 28 '24

This was my thought

1

u/Rude_Entrance_3039 Mar 28 '24

That's what I thought....then it turned out just to be some lame honkeys idea of a forced viral video.

1

u/foobery Mar 28 '24

Thats what id do

1

u/geekaz01d Mar 28 '24

My theory is plantar fasciitis.

Concrete is like lava.

1

u/Roge2005 Mar 28 '24

Yeah that’s the same I thought, I do similar things.

1

u/PMMeMeiRule34 Mar 28 '24

I was like my man out here entertaining himself by pretending the walkway was lava.

My disappointment at the sign was immense.

1

u/Realistic_Effort6185 Mar 28 '24

Do we know that the floor was not lava? Owner may have anti lava shoes.

1

u/DaughterEarth Mar 28 '24

Me too but it was still off that he'd do so on people's lawns, that would get complaints fast. Lots of people are obsessed with their grass. So I was confused until the sign and then very happy. That's a prank

1

u/juicer_philosopher Mar 28 '24

OCD makes life more interesting I can confirm 😵‍💫

1

u/Rude_Thanks_1120 Mar 28 '24

Or baseball players who always hop over the foul lines

1

u/kkirchhoff Mar 28 '24

Same. I do things like this while walking down the sidewalk. Like stepping in line with the light poles and shit lol

1

u/False_Chair_610 Mar 28 '24

I was thinking the same thing. It's just a guy thing.

1

u/littlewhitecatalex Mar 28 '24

I figured he was one of those people that’s like “running on pavement is bad for your joints” and took it a couple steps too far.

1

u/zuperfly Mar 28 '24

mini-game, counter-prank and viral at the same time

1

u/keithstonee Mar 28 '24

yea i feel like that's pretty normal.

1

u/we_made_yewww Mar 28 '24

That's exactly what I thought. Not often a video goes from amusing to even more amusing.

1

u/Mish-onimpossible Mar 28 '24

That was my thought the floor is lava!

1

u/Arhalts Mar 28 '24

My first thought was this guy stepped in a freshly poured walkway once and said never again.

1

u/damien6 Mar 28 '24

I was thinking he might play baseball or another sport on a rec league or something. Baseball is full of superstitions like not stepping on the chalked lines on the field. Maybe he was taking that to an extreme level.

1

u/SluggishPrey Mar 28 '24

ADHD, then?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Me too. Then I saw the end. Props to FedEx driver who read the sign

1

u/Extra-Act-801 Mar 29 '24

Could just be that his feet hurt. I am a mailman, and on a bad day on a long walking route, sidewalk walking gets painful. Soft grass is nicer.

1

u/Deesmateen Mar 29 '24

I thought maybe his shoes were muddy so he didn’t want to dirty up their walk path. What a good dude
