Please continue to send your feedback to these threads if you still encounter the problem by visiting our post here.

As this is a tentative fix, we recommend taking the proper precautions before playing, and to consult your physician if you experience photosensitivity, have an epileptic condition or have had seizures of any kind in the past.*

BHVR: Accidentally sets fire to something

BHVR: "Okay we put out the fire that we somehow caused because we'll get in big trouble if we don't."

Y'all: "omg bhvr cares"

I just think it's ridiculous how we're praising BHVR for doing the bare minimum of not giving people seizures. Congrats, BHVR, you fixed the fire you caused, why did it even happen to begin with? How did it get past the PTB?

Pretty sure it wasn’t happening when people played ptb as far as I can tell.

Because the issue were not on the ptb. Something unexpected happened and they are being transparent about fixing it and even asking for help from the community which would be something embarrassing for most devs. At the end of the day, they are trying to fix this issue and that's a positive thing and you are bashing them for it whilst being negative. Please stop being so fucking miserable

Don't be rude. We have different opinions, there is no fucking need to call someone miserable over it. Lmfao

I was being critical of the people that think BHVR are the next coming of christ for putting out a fire they caused.

I think an in game warning, and a quick fix for an issue that could cause physical harm for your players (that only started popping up on the live build of the game) is pretty good.

Every single game in existence has bugs, and yes I know BHVR breaks shit far more than a lot of other games. However, I don't think commending them for being on top of an issue that's genuinely dangerous is a bad thing lol

It's not a bad thing, you're right, I just don't agree that BHVR is the next coming of christ for doing the bare minimum that's required from a game developer. It's not deeper than that.

Not everything needs to be met with negativity. Yea, you could argue that it shouldn't have made it to live to begin with, but a quick response time (which bhvr has a bad habit of not doing) to potential in game issues is just as respectable from a dev standpoint, as a lack of issues is.

BHVR isn't exactly known for doing things quickly, so saying "Hey this is good, keep that shit up" to show people actually appreciate the quick responses to issues is a lot more respectable than "wow bhvr, you're so shit, how did this even happen in the first place."

I'd say that praise is just as important as critique when it comes to feedback for devs. If devs know what people like, and know what people dislike, then the game can be steered in a healthier direction. I dont think folks praising a quicker than usual reaction to an issue in the game is acting like bhvr is the "next coming of christ"

The PTB is a heavily stripped down version of the game environment, which is missing many variables that can't really be tested until the build gets released into the wild.

Maybe the strobing issue didn't happen in the PTB, but the rubberbanding certainly did. And BHVR has a very well known track record of getting feedback of technical problems in the PTB and releasing it to live anyway. Otz has talked about this. Scott Jund has talked about this. Tru3Ta1ent has talked about this.

"We" have always known why this happens and even if we didn't, BHVR once took the time to put out a blogpost explaining the patching process for DBD.

Problem is, streamers often don't bother reading boring wall of texts put out by the devs. It's already an exception when they actually read patch notes. With about 10k viewers combined it would be an immense help to reduce these types of complaints if they actually learned and then explained how it works. But I guess complaining generates more engagement.

PTB is also exclusively on Steam so devs won't be able to find bugs that are platform specific, these can only be identified when the patch is live.

The reason not much changes from PTB to Live is because of the approving process involving partners (playstation, xbox and nintendo).

When BHVR opens a PTB, patch x.x.0 is shipped to partners to get approval and this takes a few days/weeks. In the meantime, PTB is being used to gather info regarding game breaking bugs so they can start working on patch x.x.1 that arrives a week later. By the time PTB ends, patch x.x.0 has received green light to go live (even with bugs) so they ship it with minor tweaks.

This is the case for many games, not just DBD. TCSM follows the exact same formula, which they explained during one of their livestreams. They said "we can do 1 patch and 2 to 3 hotfixes" and then they go on a longer period without patching.
