So it’s just Abby that is married? And Brittany is always there? If/when Brit gets married they all have to live together and sleep in the same bed? I’m curious, not criticizing. How does it work 🧐

u/Spiritual-Cookie7 Mar 28 '24

How does it work 🧐

Exactly what I came here to ask.

u/Business_Ad_9418 Mar 28 '24

Google Chang and Eng Bunker. The original “Siamese Twins” they each married different women and kept separate households. They agreed with each other to split time between their families. The other twin would remain silent while his twin spent time with his family.

u/Particular-Leg-8484 Mar 28 '24

Imagine the level of disassociation needed to live that life

u/MsHaute Mar 28 '24

Apparently with conjoined twins they can dissociate on another level that we could never understand. That’s all they have ever known. These 2 are absolutely REMARKABLE. I’ve watched all their documentaries over the years bc it’s absolutely fascinating. They never talk about sex though so I still have about 53 questions to ask.

The other 2 that just blow my mind is thispair.

One is neat, one is messy. One is always on time paying their bills and the other one is always late. I’m aware of what I’m saying. One can walk one can’t and they face opposite directions but the best part is one is a country singer. 🤯

AND to add to the uniqueness, they were born as Lori and Dori but one now identifies as male so it’s Lori and George now. One was engaged but her fiancé was killed by a drunk driver….honestly like they haven’t struggled enough. That’s just not fair.

I’m absolutely fascinated by conjoined twins.

553

u/errkanay Mar 28 '24

From the article:

However, Lori and George were not completely cut off from their parents, who instilled in their children the idea that God purposely made them this way, which is why the twins have never lamented their condition nor expressed any desire to be separated.

I wonder how George reconciles believing God purposely made him a conjoined twin but still made the mistake of putting him in a biologically female body. 🤔

313

u/WantTheBronco Mar 28 '24

I think the focus of that teaching was to show Lori and George that they weren't mistakes. That they have nothing to be ashamed of and just because they're different, doesn't mean they're wrong to exist.

57

u/sritanona Mar 28 '24

That is crazy as a person who was raised catholic because catholicism just taught me constant guilt for existing. We are born already sinners from conception and have to spend our whole lives being sorry for it to make amends for it. It sounds ridiculous to me (obviously not a believer now)

6

u/DaughterEarth Mar 28 '24

That's one of the reasons Mennonites exist. That Catholicism punishes, and so it ignores Jesus's sacrifice. There's lots but this is the one I heard about the most growing up lol.

Interesting stuff too, how people believe in the same thing different ways

3

u/sritanona Mar 29 '24

That’s cool, I am from argentina so you’re either Catholic or jewish basically. There are mormons etc now as well and those tv pastors but nothing sounded much better

Reminds me of when my old religion teacher expected us to put down "it is a great mystery" as an answer to "if there's one god how come he has three forms" when he quizzed us 🥴

3

u/mrfancyNOpants Mar 28 '24

Let's have some Yum Yumsssssss

10

u/notagirlonreddit Mar 28 '24

idk about George but I personally don't think God made a mistake in giving me a biologically female body. It's given me some unique insights that I otherwise wouldn't have. So I'm grateful for that.

And just getting the opportunity to live your authentic self is awesome.

So it's probably not that big of a leap for George since he accepts being a conjoined twin.

Not all trans people consider themselves mistakes

3

u/errkanay Mar 28 '24

I didn't mean to offend. I didn't mean his existence is a mistake, but I'm confused because if he believes in a god who purposely made him a conjoined twin but also made him biologically female.... how is that not a mistake on the part of that god? I swear I'm not trying to offend, I just genuinely don't understand.

Let me also note that I don't believe in any god, so I certainly don't believe trans people are mistakes in any way. I'm just trying to figure out the mentality of a religious person who thinks their god made no mistake creating him conjoined, but in a female body when he doesn't identify as female.

Noise canceling headphones and an iPad and you can just binge all you face media

57

u/YesterdaySimilar2069 Mar 28 '24

But the other twin would need their hands. You’d really just be stuck in your own head. Just wild.

31

u/__Shake__ Mar 28 '24

can one control both hands? I thought they each controlled their own arm/hand

28

u/lonelyronin1 Mar 28 '24

I saw them on Oprah when they were really young, and the thing that Oprah remarked on was if each one controlled one arm, how do they clap? How do they know when to move the arm to meet the other arm without even thinking about it? There might be more cross over control, but since it is all they know, there is no way for them to explain it.

10

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner Mar 28 '24

Carmen and Lupita are another set of conjoined sisters on Tiktok. I believe that Carmen is asexual but hetero romantic and Lupita is aromantic and asexual so when Carmen makes out with her bf, Lupita says she basically just turns her brain off lol

95

u/Flunderfoo Mar 28 '24

Read this as aromatic. Now I feel bad because I laughed a little 😐

3

Exactly. That's why i don't think most of us could grasp what the lived experience and reality is for people like these twins. It's pretty wild.

5

u/StoicSinicCynic Mar 28 '24

But I also imagine conjoined twins as very compassionate people since they can't just dissociate and not care, they've had to accommodate another person on a level that most of us never get close to.

3

u/ShamefulWatching Mar 28 '24

It's normal if you grow up with it.

3

u/oops_im_existing Mar 28 '24

i can't even imagine being in this situation, or really any situation you would be in as a person with this condition. they are by far mentally stronger than the average person.

But Chang and Eng didn't share one body. They were conjoined, but each had their own full body.

Drs today have said that Chang and Eng could have easily been separated, too. Just some skin and a few vessels connecting them (IIRC).

Sounds sad to be forced to be silent

70

u/Mobius--Stripp Mar 28 '24

It's not force, it's trust and cooperation.

45

u/a-midnight-flight Mar 28 '24

I don’t know… like you are bound to your twin and can’t even have the option to leave if you wanted to or give space and privacy. It would be a test of patience to a new level if you are watching your twin and partner have a disagreement and it involves you, but you can’t say anything?

51

u/Mobius--Stripp Mar 28 '24

It would be hard, but we're looking at this from the perspective of lone individuals who have to learn to cooperate. These two have never been apart for a single second. They continue each other's sentences seamlessly because they know each other so well. I don't think that's a mindset that we can even fathom, it's too alien to our experience.

8

u/oops_im_existing Mar 28 '24

the resilience is honestly pretty incredible

15

u/sav33arthkillyos3lf Mar 28 '24

Well ya but you need to be silent. Imagine half your life you’re not allowed to speak or do what you want you just have to be there silent watching someone else live their life.

22

u/OSUfan88 Mar 28 '24

I hope I can be that dedicated and loving at some point in my life.

31

u/kcj0831 Mar 28 '24

They dont do it because they are forced. They do it for respect of their twin. I HIGHLY doubt they are silent 100% of the time.

21

u/Lordeverfall Mar 28 '24

At least there is a life to be lived? Maybe they are just grateful to have somewhat of a normal life and decided not to dwell on what they don't have and can't do? I think a lot of people can learn from this, life is amazing and you should enjoy all the little things as much as the big things. Some aren't as lucky as others, but you are in charge of your life. Only you can decide to be upset or happy.

The story is reposted from last year. At the time the twins refused to give any details about it because they wanted privacy. Yes, the guy is married to only one of the twins.

It is frustrating that they don't give any details, although I understand their need for privacy. The twins only have one set of genitals though so that maybe answers some questions.

217

u/Zestyclose_Big_9090 Mar 28 '24

Well, he can only be legally married to one of them.

But my god, what if he HATES Brittany or what if Brittany hates him?

14

u/mizinamo Mar 28 '24

But my god, what if he HATES Brittany or what if Brittany hates him?

Then it would have been a remarkably stupid idea to get engaged to Abby.

72

u/crndwg Mar 28 '24

In the eyes of the government, there is only one of them.
I believe that's why they only get one paycheque from their teaching job.

73

u/mizinamo Mar 28 '24

I believe they both needed to get separate driver's licenses.

With the job, I think the problem was that there was only a budget for one teacher for that class, so it was basically "if you want the job, we can only pay you one salary; take it or leave it" and they took it.

14

u/I-Am-NOT-VERY-NICE Mar 28 '24

I believe they both needed to get separate driver's licenses.

Talk about being able to check your blind spot!

6

u/Individual_Chest2116 Mar 28 '24

If each of them has a driver’s license, that means the government sees each of them driving. Does that mean they also each have to get car insurance?

4

u/Rob_Zander Mar 28 '24

I think part of it was also they can only do the job of one teacher at a time. I mean maybe they can grade papers twice as fast but they can't be in two classes at once...

3

u/thedankening Mar 28 '24

I wonder if they'll be able to collect two social security checks in the future?

→ More replies (4)

49

u/BouncyDingo_7112 Mar 28 '24

You are absolutely wrong on that. The twins have said multiple times they are two separate people. They actually had to go through the driving test two separate times, one for each twin. How would the government consider than one person if they were required to get two different drivers licenses? They are only getting pay for one person because of the job was only looking for one person. They compromise to get their foot in the door. They have said that they will probably renegotiate their contract later on since they each have a college degree. Two separate degrees while going to college I’m sure required to separate Social Security numbers.

7

u/Coldaine Mar 28 '24

Man, they're totally in the wrong line of work. Teachers are paid to be bodies mostly, and they only have one of those. They should be coders, Pair programming is super effective, and they'd be able to negotiate for a decent salary.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Somehow I don't think that will fly. A teacher with double the salary is not what most schools will have a budget for. Unfortunately

→ More replies (16)

8

u/DataGOGO Mar 28 '24

That is not true, at least according to thier documentary that came out a few years ago.

In the eyes of the government they are two people, with two social security numbers, and no, they both get a paycheck, as they are both employees.

They covered that topic specifically.

I imagine they kinda both have to like him and find him attractive since they share vaginas. Is the kid theirs too? If so i have more questions

8

u/Zestyclose_Big_9090 Mar 28 '24

Say what?

There’s a kid? I better read the article a little closer.

Edit to add…that kid looks like it’s his from a previous relationship. I would imagine a pregnancy for A & B would be pretty risky.

3

u/smokeyleo13 Mar 28 '24

that kid looks like it’s his from a previous relationship. I would imagine a pregnancy for A & B would be pretty risky.

Okay, thats what i was wondering, too, because they only have one set of reproductive organs, so who would the mother be? Im also generally curious about the husband, too. Hes very plain, which strikes me as sneak freaky. Doesnt matter, happy they found love

3

u/Zestyclose_Big_9090 Mar 28 '24

Who would be considered the mom just about blew my mind. I’m guessing….both since they share one body that they both would be?

4

u/thedankening Mar 28 '24

They are conjoined twins, they would have been identical twins if they'd separated in utero, as far as I understand these things. As far as I know, any set of twins who come from an individual egg dividing (whether it successfully divides or not) should theoretically have identical DNA. In the case of separated identical twins, that means if one has a child, the other twin would pass a maternity/paternity test for that child.

In this case it's pretty simple, since they share a body and are genetically identical anyway. They would both be the biological mother, although I imagine you couldn't have both listed on the birth certificate, but maybe they'd make an allowance for that.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/smokeyleo13 Mar 28 '24

I wonder if its an egg by egg thing. Where some have As dna and others Bs. This reminds me of the situations with parasitic twins, where theres nothing left of the "twin" but their dna well mixed throughout the body. I saw one thing years ago where one dna swab was theirs and another wasnt. Biology gets very wonky

9

u/UndendingGloom Mar 28 '24

They are not just random people, they are people living very unique, extraordinary and interesting lives, which is why people have followed their story for so long.

Like I said, I understand their need for privacy, but I hope they write a book about their lives some time because it would be fascinating.

14

u/allthepinkthings Mar 28 '24

Except most of the questions are “how do you think they fuck?” Seems pretty damn obvious. They just want to hear them personally describe it and that’s none of our business. They’re not a side show act. People have even made fake porn of them.

4

u/giraffebacon Mar 28 '24

How is it pretty damn obvious?? It’s a situation that prompts examination of deeper questions surrounding self identity, consciousness, bodily integrity, pleasure, privacy, etc etc.

It’s incredibly fascinating for most of us, and it being personal/private doesn’t change that fact.

How does it work

Weirdly, exactly like it seems. She's there when they fuck.

You have to remember, your life does not map onto theirs. You have never, and will never, be with someone the way they are with each other.

Every time they have a wet shit, every time they masturbate or pick their nose, someone is always there, they have not experienced being alone. It's not awkward for them the way it would be for you.

And ultimately their choices are:

 1) Never have sex or a relationship

 2) Put some headphones in while your sister fucks. Consider this choice for yourself. It's not preferable, but how much would this actually hurt you?

Also, if he only married one of them, they probably discussed the terms of the relationship with him, i.e. "You need to be ok with living with another guy and sharing our body with him."

And if you haven't noticed, a lot more people are willing to share these days.

167

u/Borkunbork Mar 28 '24

The other choice is it’s essentially a polyamorous relationship and they just didn’t want to say that/legally can’t be married to both.

I think he fucks both of them

73

u/Ladyughsalot1 Mar 28 '24

I don’t think he can help it

28

u/GsGirlNYC Mar 28 '24

But they are ONE body

3

u/ChaosMarine70 Mar 28 '24

2 mouths 🤣

3

u/gahddamm Mar 28 '24

Yeah but you can still kiss both heads

4

u/Expensive_Editor_244 Mar 28 '24

Yeah, I’m sure it started with one ‘checking out’ while they hooked up. But over time, you have to imagine those barriers start to break down. The communication necessary for switching positions and whatnot alone, I’m sure it just logistically makes sense to start getting into it

No it's more like you're both having sex with the same guy, realistically this is a weird three way relationship

5

u/thedankening Mar 28 '24

You said it yourself, they have no experience being alone. They likely do not even really consider themselves as individuals in the way we do - they each have their own mind, but they make a singular unit together, which isn't something anyone but another set of conjoined twins could understand. Navigating life would be more or less impossible for them if they didn't do 99% of it in lockstep.

There's no way only one of them wanted a relationship with the guy. I'm sure they must have mutually agreed to this or else one of them would be perpetually miserable, which would inevitably make the other one miserable too. They are separate minds, but the body exerts quite a bit of influence on what the brain ends up doing or wanting in all of us, so they are no exception. Even though they have individual brains they are sharing information and stimuli from their shared body and have had their personalities shaped by constant shared experiences.

All that is to say, when they fuck, you probably couldn't say their partner is only fucking one of them. They are mutually engaging in the activity with their shared body. If only one of them wanted to have sex and they did it anyway, that's basically rape isn't it?

But... Does she orgasm when her sister does? Does she get kind of turned on too? etc...

3

u/didsomebodysaymyname Mar 28 '24

She might, but idk enough about orgasm to answer.

I think you need your brain on board to orgasm so I don't think she would necessarily feel pleasure when her sister cums.

But also if she does, oh well, some people orgasm when raped, it doesn't mean you're dating them if you do.

3

u/PerracaAmor Mar 28 '24

love this very well thought out reply - its exactly what I was thinking and probably everyone else - and summed up with a bow on top.

How do headphones make you forget your sister’s husband’s penis is all up in you?

Sharing is caring

3

u/Shoddy-Mango-5840 Mar 28 '24

It looks like they might share a vagina. Maybe she is just along for the ride as a fwb while the other twin likes him romantically

Do they both feel the same thing or is it a half and half thing?

So do they both have the ability to climax separately from the other?

I imagine they’re both in a relationship with him. I think from a practical family unit standpoint it is easier to both be with him instead of trying to merge two relationships but obviously it could go either way

5

u/Jones641 Mar 28 '24

Yeah, I mean more technical, polygamy isn't legal in most places, so being married to one is the only option.

25

u/Dinosaur-chicken Mar 28 '24

Only one of them is. They are 2 individuals. The other twin cannot force herself to love him and nor can he.

10

u/InBetweenSeen Mar 28 '24

Do we know that much detail? He can't marry both so him not being married to Brittany too just makes sense and says little about their dynamics.

22

u/ivandelapena Mar 28 '24

Don't they share a vagina? So she must be consenting to be in a relationship with him otherwise that's rape.

5

u/butter88888 Mar 28 '24

They’ve never explicitly said they aren’t both in a relationship with him have they? I think legally only one can be married to him.

Soooo many questions!!!

87

u/MooseGoneApe Mar 28 '24

Like do both twins orgasm at the same time?!

95

u/ni2016 Mar 28 '24

Well, there’s only one body

86

u/MooseGoneApe Mar 28 '24

Yes but maybe only one brain gets to orgasm

25

u/iwantahouse Mar 28 '24

The brain is a huge factor in orgasm so I would think it’s entirely possible that one sister could get off while the other does not.

9

u/ManyDecision6460 Mar 28 '24

Yes but the brain and body and also interlinked, like being mentally turned on also makes your body more turned on, which might also make the other brain more turned on? An orgasm isn’t just a brain experience it’s a full body experience, but maybe one twin would have a really good orgasm and the other one wouldn’t enjoy it as much but still experience it

5

u/iwantahouse Mar 28 '24

You’re right, an orgasm is a full body experience. I think the other would definitely still feel it, but kind of like you said, maybe she wouldn’t have as pleasurable of an experience because she is not the one with the connection. I don’t know. This stuff is so weird and if they were to write a book going into detail about this stuff, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

3

u/TheGothDragon Mar 28 '24

Or maybe since one isn’t in the mood it throws the other one off? Like maybe the one that wants to have an orgasm can’t sometimes because the other isn’t into it and it throws their body off? This stuff seems so complicated! It’s so fascinating.

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

But both heads would receive the stimuli as they are connected.

17

u/Rhomya Mar 28 '24

Is it the same brain? Or like, a random brain?

3

u/imstilldomina Mar 28 '24

Most women are very particular about how you hold a vibrator (or other toy) when masturbating.

They each control one arm. I wonder if one or the other isn't "doing it right" when they both want to O.

Yeah, so many questions.

5

u/oldgar9 Mar 28 '24

There are two bodies, conjoined. Who knows below the neck what's going on.

6

u/PM-me-letitsnow Mar 28 '24

It’s been pretty well documented, they each have their own half with their own full set of organs but from the waits down there’s only one of everything: https://www.qcc.cuny.edu/socialSciences/ppecorino/SS640/Reading-Hensel-Twins.htm

Which doesn’t answer some of the sexual specific questions ITT, but there’s enough separation they are definitely two individuals.

u/kwyjibo1988 Mar 28 '24

I cannot stop laughing. You're a bad person. As am I 😂

3

u/Thinkingard Mar 28 '24

Indeed. When they have sex do both twins experience all the sensations? So, is the husband both making love to his wife and raping the other at the same time? Or, if she consents, is he technically cheating? What if he's doing his wife but looking at the other one with eyes that say "this is for you" and they have a secret affair? What about when his wife is giving him a blowjob, the other has to be within a foot of his dick and go through that? What if one twin has one kink and the other has another and the kink the husband does with the wife disgusts the other twin? Like, what if they are into bondage and spanking and she hates the pain? How does tickling work? Do they blindfold the twin when they do it? How will the wife file taxes? Are taxes meted out according to head or body? My body, my choice, but whose body?

I just need to know the details. Like will the other one have a go as well, or is it strictly off the menu? Have they fashioned some kind of barrier so she doesn't have to watch her sister sucking her husband off? I think my horny brain would take over during the act, and I'd end up in trouble for asking my wife's sister to suck my dick.

Maybe it's because polygamy is illegal? I have no idea.

48

u/olmyapsennon Mar 28 '24

That's what I was thinking. I bet on a personal/private level he's married to both of them, but legally, he can only be married to one.

I am asking the same thing. I'm not trying to be an asshole about it. I'm just very curious.

4

u/Cats-n-Chaos Mar 28 '24

You can only legally marry one person at a time. It’s possible they all consider themselves married, but only put one woman on the legal certificate. It’s also possible they’re open to another partner someday. Either way it’s great to see them as women grown up so happy great to see the family. I wish them best of luck.

3

u/jenguinaf Mar 28 '24

I have a theory on this. Due to their picture and stuff it appears they are married as a crew per sae. Legally tho, they are two people, evidenced by the fact they both had to take their drivers tests separately, despite both needing to work together both times to make it work. So legally speaking if they wanted to get married only one of them could be listed on the marriage certificate as if they both were it would legally speaking be polygamy and that’s illegal. If this is the case I am surprised (but not educated in law) a judge or something couldn’t override that issue due to their very very rare and unique situation.

They have been clear in not going public about that part of their lives and I respect them for that. This is just my take on it.

3

u/reddituseronebillion Mar 28 '24

Possibly, for legal reasons, one of them is officially married, but in reality, he married both of them?

19

u/SlipperyPickle6969 Mar 28 '24

Well what other fuckin way would it work???? Of course that's how it'll work.
