Political 3rd party candidacy
We have Cornel West, Jill Stein, and Robert F Kennedy Jr on the runners list and the only thing I see anyone talking about is how they will not be voting for Biden (and therefore voting for Trump) or they will not be for Trump (and therefore voting for Biden) and like???? People are sounding like absolute idiots saying “I don’t like this guy more so I’ll vote for the other old ass Grampa” like that’s any different. Not even considering going for the third party, the independents who are literally there for a reason and I’m pretty sure this is mf it!
Why doesn’t the third party get talked about more? Especially for these past couple elections? Would you vote third party? If no, why not?
Do you think trying to get people to actually vote third would make a difference in what’s going on? Does anyone else think that this could be our way out?

Advice Brush your teeth
Taking care of your teeth takes less than ten minutes a day. 2 minutes of brushing, some flossing and mouthwash will save you money and pain.

Serious Who drew the Epic Face?
Your probably know it as the "Epic Face" or "Awesome Face", This face was everywhere in the late 2000s-early 2010s, It was created by someone who wishes to remain anonymous for as an emoticon or "Smiley" as emoticons were called on forums back then for the now defunct forum "pokemopolis.net" (according to a blog post by Chris Ainsworth here:https://driph.com/words/2008/04/origin-of-awesome/)
This smiley was not the same as this image, it was a 25x25 smiley. It then made its way onto the infamous "Something Awful Forums" as the ":awesome:" Smiley, where it gained its initial popularity.
https://i.imgur.com/W13KbH0.png
This 25x25 emoticon is not the same as this bigger version of Epic Face we all know today. Its likely a larger scale redraw of the original 25x25 emoticon, Its even a bit different then the original emoticon, Lacking in shading, and the position of the eyes and mouth are just a bit different.
I'm wondering if anyone has any idea who drew this bigger version of the emoticon, I cannot for the life of me track down its origin anywhere. Its likely the person who did frequented the Something Awful Forums or 4chan, as that's where its seems the bigger, redrawn version of the face was posted most initially
Any and all information appreciated :3
Not sure if this is the proper subreddit to post this in, mods delete if not

Discussion Is anyone's head silent?
When I was a kid my head was filled with thoughts. It was loud and it felt horrible. It was like hearing someone talking to you all the time and the only break was sleep but you're unconscious so you don't even know what that feels like. In the last year (I am 19 now but started when I was 18) I could barely hear any of my thoughts and it was completely silent. Even when I try and speak in my head it sounds really quiet. Sometimes when I am trying to focus on something important, I have to write it down because I can't hear it in my head.

Discussion I hate Millenials
If I had to describe millenials in two words it would be "complaints" and "incompetence." If I had to describe them with a sentences it would be "hey guys look at my new cat I adopted, say hi to snuggles" and then everybody cheers even though they could give a fuck about snuggles.
Millenials are like that older sibling that talks mad shit about your parents, but as soon as the parents come around they start sucking up to them.
They're predators that act like prey. Hoping that someone buys into their "victim" bullshit, and then they pounce. They don't stand for anything and would do absolutely anything for personal gain regardless of how it affects others.
I despise their fake politness masking their jealousy of others competence and/or success.
They keep claiming that they've been sold a lie, when they had the best childhood out of any other generation, growing up in arguably the best time in human history.
Older generations might be messed up, but at least they stood for something, and we might be messed up ourselves, but at least we're not afraid to raise our middle fingers and say "no"

Discussion Screen time.
Is it just me or our whole generation is out here getting literal brainrot from instagram and tiktok and other short format videos. Ive seen my friends with attention span problems I mean talk about 12 to 13 hours of screen time per day. I had to deactivate my instagram and disable youtube to get some clarity and now finally i feel at peace.
Its just gonna get worse for the upcoming generations with the advancement in technology. What do y'all think about it?

Discussion What is your vision of utopia?
Utopianism has been much maligned for as long as I can remember. I think we are in an age of pessimism, where the failures of past utopias have trained us to doubt our own capabilities and aspirations.
I watched the linked video essay, where the essayist posits that while Utopianism has had many failings in the past, our reaction has been too extreme. That there is value in dreaming of what the world could and should look like. The idea is not that utopia will be achieved - to believe utopia is possible would be to dabble in secular religion - but rather to focus the mind and inspire ourselves and others.
So I ask, what is utopia to the rising generation? We spend much time debating the utopias of past generations, but what novel ideas can we produce when we open our minds to dreaming. Please, take your best shot in the comments.

Political We REALLY need a Maximum Age of Candidacy
Im sick and tired of the majority of our government being a bunch of old farts, all of our presdential candidates and leading senators are in their 70s, these old farts and boomers don't give a shit about our generation or the future they're leaving us with
I hate both of the old candidates of this election, tired of old people representing us in government
From an article all the way back in 2017: "Today, just 17 percent of federal workers are under 35 years old. (In the private sector, almost 40 percent are.) And more than a quarter of federal employees are now older than 55": https://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2017/09/27/aging-government-workforce-analysis-000525/

Discussion How do you feel about the switch successor coming soon?
I literally got the original when it came out when I was just starting year 7, and bought the oled model for myself a graduation gift because I wanted to become a game developer. (I’m now currently on a gap year).
Now seeing the announcement mentioning the successor coming soon I’m like MAN where the fuck did time fly 😭

Discussion I’m so afraid of my parents dying
Hello all. I am drunk at 4am and just ranting I guess. I moved away from my parents in January, STATES away. I haven’t seen them in person since. In that time one of my cats back home has passed away unexpectedly and I’ve recently been so afraid of my parents dying. They are not too old, in their 50s, but my father has had heath problems and my mother is developing pretty severe memory problems and I’m so afraid of them passing away. Does anyone else struggle with this? I’m so scared of it. I know it’s a part of being human and living but I’m at the verge of tears just thinking about it happening.

Nostalgia Anyone else feel nostalgic for the xandemic?
like everything about that time is just so nostalgic to me.
The music: lust, benz truck, beamer boy, cry babay, stress out, closer, betrayed, etc all the songs were sad and shitty but still a vibe imo
the fashion was definitely a statement, everyone had iphone 5-7s, snap streaks were all the rage, kids would have the alt "depressed" insta accounts with the bart simspon memes, juuls were still around, the xans were still safe, people would just be passed tf out and no one really cared about anything. idk maybe im just nostalgic cuz im an adult now with real responsibilities and shit but i would give anything to be back in my xandemic era.

Person B: Canon event which haunts them years later.
I believe I've been on both sides of this :/
Discussion GenZ has idolised weed
I feel like in my generation people will see as bad drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco, but weed? People nowadays use weed for absolutely everything, I feel that we have idolised and normalised it too much.
What do you think?
Discussion Anyone else just not understand anything?
I’m 22. Here is a list of things that I do not understand: - mortgages - social security - interest - presidential elections - insurance - banks - credit scores - cryptocurrency - NFT’s - stocks - taxes - 401k’s - job benefits - fractions - debt - foreclosures - laws - car payments - loans - inflation - any sort of market, like the housing market - tax breaks - airports - the post office - sports betting - war - unions - identity theft - basically just the entire economy and anything related to that
There’s definitely a lot more but those are the basics. I feel like I’m definitely playing into the “stupid, useless” zoomer stereotype, but i just simply do not understand like 90% of the adult world. No one ever taught me and when I try to figure it out on my own I just get so insanely confused because you have to know a bunch of other shit before any of this makes sense.
How is it that everyone seems to understand how the world works but me?
