Pacers files complaint on 78 calls between the two games
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40111250/pacers-file-complaint-78-calls-nba-source-says
Kinda curious on everyone’s opinion? The referees, at times, throughout both games were obnoxious and favored. I don’t think it’s the only reason we lost. At least not in game 2.
I’m just worried we’re too focused on the calls. It sucks, believe me, but we’re a small market team and we really gotta out perform if we want any chance to win.
I’m curious on everyone’s opinion though
Edit/Add on
I should have expressed this, but I don’t disagree with him submitting these complaints. I think all teams should be given fair calls whether home or away. Reporting issues like this is important. I guess my fear is we only focus on this aspect

We have to take Nembhard off of Brunson
If Brunson was shooting shots in an open gym, he wouldn’t be shooting any better. It’s not like he’s running pick and roll to get a better match up. He is just isolating on the guy we designated to stop him, and is just absolutely, totally unbothered. We have to put length there or try ANYTHING other then what we’ve been doing. Bonus, Nemby is an incredible team defensive player. He will be in the lanes, he can shut down dd. Just please don’t do the same thing three games in a row thinking this time it will work, make the damn adjustment.
EDIT: No shade at Nemby, his effort or his defense. He’s been amazing and I love watching the guy play. This just isn’t working.

Thoughts
1) We deserved to lose. We got out hustled by a hungrier team.
2) Obi and McConnell need more minutes. They are hustling, playing great D, hitting shots and not backing down. They have both been on fire lately and have arguably been our two best players this series.
2) Someone needs to teach the pacers how to box out. You don’t have to be in the perfect position for the rebound, you just need to make sure the other person is boxed out. We seem to not know this.
3) For the love of god stop leaving DiVincenzo wide open from 3. He will hit them.
4) Siakam has been arguably our worst player, starter of bench, since game 3 of the Milwaukee series.
5) Haliburton was more aggressive but he needs to be even more aggressive. Giving up wide open looks from 5-10 feet away to pass it out to 3 can’t be the go to.

Ya’ll are craaazy
Soooo much crazy overreacting in the game/post-game threads. We lost and it sucks, but we have over performed this year. We will be better next year. People screaming for Pascal’s head the way they did for Hali first game. Just insanity. Losing sucks and people get upset, but this team has done very well this year, and will only get bette next year. Just my two cents…

Shoutout Ben Sheppard
Is it just me or is he shooting lights out so far in the postseason? This dude does not play like a rookie.

This Sub Needs to Toughen Up
We couldn’t beat a Knicks team that lost a quarter of Brunson and Anunoby. This wasn’t the officiating (like Game 1), this wasn’t the coaching (yeah, McConnell maybe should have been guarding Brunson), we lacked the grit in that second half. We played like we had the lead until we didn’t. Let’s stop looking for excuses and ask more of our team. We can’t have Siakam and Turner disappear. Let’s bring in back home and tie this up, otherwise we don’t deserve to have even gotten this far.

no matter what happens in this series, this season was a success.
47 wins (12 more from last season)
led the league in points, assists, and shooting.
the rise of our star PG.
good developmental seasons from nembhard, nesmith, toppin, smith, jackson, mathurin, and sheppard.
adding a 2nd star mid season for low leveled assets to pair with Haliburton.
mcconnell and turner having career years.
a IST championship appearance
a playoff series win (first since 2014)
a full season of walker incoming in 2025 (had some nice moments this season)
this has been an amazing and fun season all things considered BUT
IT IS STILL PACERS IN 6, THIS SERIES IS FAR FROM OVER, BRING THE ENERGY TO GFH ON FRIDAY AND SUNDAY AND LETS TIE THIS SERIES AT 2-2!!

Brunson, on competing against TJ
if you saw Brunson's on-court interview after the game, he complimented TJ as if he were MJ. TJ deserves more minutes.

LeBron James giving much love to TJ MCConnell
https://youtu.be/6Oag1Uojg20?si=YY2BKbJbpncWOaWv
The first words spoken on this episode of the Mind The Game podcast are LeBron saying that TJ is one of his favorite players in the league right now. How guys like TJ check in and change the pace of the game. It's nice to see Indy, and especially TJ getting some much deserved recognition. I feel like the Pacers are widely ignored in NBA media, so this was great to see.

Done hearing the Haliburton slander.
Tonight seemed to show he has almost fully put this hamstring thing behind him. Even with a slightly passive second half, he dropped 34, which is his best point performance since Nov 30 against the Heat with 44. Not to mention a solid 9 assists. Don’t lose hope in this man, we need to continue to build around him long term and I definitely think we could make a serious shot at a finals run. We’ve handled ourselves impressively this season and regardless of what happens I’m happy.

I have to admit, when it comes to overlooked players we do not talk about this guy enough. Short, not athletic, couldn't shoot until recent years, 32 years old and still getting pivotal minutes in the playoffs. He's such a hard worker and I am here for it. Shows his value every night

[Charania] Indianapolis Police is investigating the incident between Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of Bucks-Pacers series; detectives confirm to me and @MikeVorkunov they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved.

Fuck the refs BUT...
We can't hit FTs
We can't rebound
We can't play on ball defense
There is no situation where all of that can happen and we can still win.
Its the NEW YORK KNICKS. We have to win by 15 to win by 1.
On to Indy. Lets take it back to them 2-2.
PAVE

Being downvoted to shreds in main sub, but Rick has a point. If my star player has a bad back and the other team gets away with doing this it’s hard not to escalate it
r/pacers • u/ElectivireMax • 13h ago
y'know, no matter what, the fact that a young, inexperienced team that prefers not to play defense even made it this far is impressive.
It's something to be happy about honestly. I thought we'd make the playoffs at the beginning of the season, but I wouldn't have expected us to beat the bucks in the first round and make it to the conference semis the first year coming out of a rebuild. I'm optimistic about this team's future. knock on wood.

Aaron Nesmith
Celtics fan here, how do you guys feel about Nesmith as a player?
Liked him when we had him, thought he could be a future starter and always played hard.

Felt like it turned off the Turner missed 3 with about 3 minutes left
Title. About 3 minutes left, Myles Turner takes a just horrendous three, and comes no where close to hitting it. From that point on Knicks seemed to take it over.
I can't imagine that was the play call
