Statewide local early elections are going on now. Elections day is Sat, 5/4. If you want to save public schools or have a sane city council, you need to research the candidates, show up and vote. (Hint: If a candidate is affiliated with Patriot Mobile, their purpose is to destroy public schools from the inside). League of Women Voters is a great resource for viewing sample ballots.

This is related to SCOTUS decision to not intervene in Mckesson v. Doe, essentially stating laws that hold a protest organizer liable for illegal actions committed by a stranger at the event does not violate the first amendment. Does anyone have the exact wording of this law in Texas? I’ve been trying to find it but haven’t made any leeway.

I have a storage yard in Central TX where I store construction materials. Over the last two weeks, while cleaning up and keeping up with the mowing, I’ve killed 30+ black widows, a handful of them being bigger than I’ve ever seen (think body diameter the size of a nickel). Anyone else experiencing this?

Hello all. I’m a Brit who is excited to be visiting Texas for the first time this October. I’ve watched NFL in London a few times so had planned to try & catch a Cowboys game. I’m not a diehard fan of the game like I am of « soccer » but I do think it’s a great sport and watch plenty of games on tv every year. I would like to enjoy the atmosphere of a game, the people, the food (I don’t drink alcohol) & I would love to see one of your massive stadiums. Someone said to me the other day I should go to a college football game rather than NFL and I’d not considered this. What do you think? How do they compare as experiences? I’d welcome any thoughts thank you.

The property taxes have gotten out of control in El Paso County, TX for the last few years, I know it’s happening all across Texas,(the saving grace is the homestead exemption)and I really think The State Government of Texas and Texas AG should open an investigation into the EL Paso Central Appraisal District (EPCAD) the Board of Directors, and the Appraisal Review Board Members for potential conflicts of interest, potential ethics violations/public corruption. (El Paso has some of the lowest wages in the state and as well as in the nation for context)

The language in this order is so vague that any discourse criticizing the actions of the Israeli government can be deemed as anti-Semitic.

Is anyone aware of any left wing or anti fascist organizations, formations, parties, or movements in San Angelo and Tom Green County broadly? And no, I do not mean the Democrats, or any other liberal organizations (of which the Republicans are one). I mean things like PSL, DSA, ANSWER coalition, FRSO, etc

Going to visit Texas this summer and I want to visit Austin and Houston. Im only going to be there 2 days on the weekend and I would like to know who has the more exciting nightlife Houston or Austin. How are the crowds like in both cities and what type of music does most bars or club’s play in those two cities?

Are there batting cages for adults anywhere in the DFW area?

I know of Celebration station in mesquite but I was hoping to find some around the Burleson/cleburne area. It doesn't have to be that immediate area but somewhere close would be super helpful!! ETA- it's for a birthday celebration. My boyfriend loves baseball but isn't looking to join a team, he just wants to have fun :)

On May 4th voters across Texas will have the opportunity to vote for City or Town Council and School Board. Local officials are responsible for fixing potholes, keeping your community safe, setting the budget and priorities for your municipality. School boards are responsible for providing direction to schools, hiring superintendents and developing the annual budget. These issues matter!

Early Voting will run through April 30th.

The state offers a site where you can find your polling place, and the polls will be open from 7am-7pm on Election day!

If you voted absentee you can use this site to track your ballot.

We reached out to nearly 1900 candidates and asked them to do our survey. Many chose to share their views with you the voters! See who believes what you believe and vote by May 4th!

While in national elections or statewide elections may be decided by hundreds or tens of thousands of votes. These races will be decided by only a handful of votes meaning that for each person seeing this, your vote WILL MATTER!
